It's Saturday, and that means it's time for BroadwayWorld's 'Saturday Intermission Pics' round-up! Today's photos feature the cast of NEWSIES ringing in the New Year, CHAPLIN channeling LES MISERABLES, last #SIPs from BRING IT ON and A CHRISTMAS STORY, plus shots from THE BOOK OF MORMON, JERSEY BOYS, SPIDER-MAN, EVITA, NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT, WEST SIDE STORY, THE SOUND OF MUSIC at Paper Mill Playhouse, ELF, THE WIZARD OF OZ in previews in Toronto, and more!

SILENCE! The Musical will play a special added matinee performance today, December 26th at 2 PM at the Elektra Theatre. Following the announcement that SILENCE! would be ending its long run on December 30th, ticket sales unexpectedly soared, shattering all previous box office records for the show so far. As a result, the producers have determined that performances of the smash hit show will resume after a brief hiatus on January 18th. Originally announced as a strictly limited engagement through August 13, 2011, SILENCE! was extended numerous times by popular demand and transferred theatres twice, ultimately landing at the new Elektra Theatre in the heart of Times Square, which was constructed especially for the show. SILENCE! opened at Theatre 80 on July 9, 2011 to unanimous rave reviews and spawned a highly successful L.A. production starring Davis Gaines and Christine Lakin.

Music, magic and merriment came together when Disneyland Resort in California and Walt Disney World Resort in Florida presented the 29th annual 'Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade' holiday TV special, airing today, December 25 on the ABC Television Network. Cast members from Disney's Newsies: The Musical, performed 'Carry the Banner' down Main Street, U.S.A., with a performance from the Tony Award-winning musical.

Last night, stage and recording star Deborah Gibson and husband, Dr. Rutledge Taylor, attended a performance of Newsies to see Gibson's nephew Nicholas Lampiasi, who plays the role of Les, in the Tony Award winning new American musical.

Disney Theatrical Productions announced today that the Broadway production of Newsies has recouped its investment in just over nine months -- the fastest a Disney production has ever turned a profit.

The It Gets Better Project, created to show young LGBT people the levels of happiness, potential, and positivity their lives will reach will present their 2012 A Better Holiday concert. The concert will be held on December 16 from 7-10PM at XL Nightclub in partnership with The Group Entertainment, and will raise funds for the Ali Forney Center (AFC), the nation's largest organization working on behalf of runaway and homeless LGBTQ youth; the AFC had a vital drop-in center destroyed by Hurricane Sandy in late October.

The Los Angeles Company of the Off-Broadway smash hit Silence! The Musical at the Hayworth Theatre ends its run today, December 9, 2012.

Corey Cott and the cast of Newsies, the Tony® Award winning new American musical, will appear on the 2012 Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade, with a performance of "Carrying the Banner."
