Transport Group's concert presentation of The Music Man has sold out The Pershing Square Signature Center's Irene Diamond Stage. Both general admission and premium reserved seating sold out within 24 hours of the initial casting announcement. Transport Group is taking names for a waiting list for cancellation tickets.

The New York Civil Liberties Union, the New York State affiliate of the ACLU, today announced additions to the company of award-winning performers for Broadway Stands Up for Freedom, its annual benefit concert to be held on Monday, July 21 at the NYU Skirball Center for Performing Arts (566 LaGuardia Place, NYC).

Initial casting for Transport Group's concert presentation of The Music Man has been announced. The evening will feature Laura Osnes, Santino Fontana, Andrew Keenan-Bolger, Alexandra Silber, Mary Testa, Jill Paice, Heather Mac Rae, Jeffry Denman, Stanley Bahorek, David Greenspan, and D.C. Anderson. Complete casting will be announced at a later date. The concert will be held at the Irene Diamond Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center, 480 West 42 Street, on Monday, August 11, 2014, directed by five-time Drama Desk nominee, Jack Cummings III.

BOOM!, which opened last night, June 25 and runs through June 28. The opening show of City Center's acclaimed Encores! Off-Center series of landmark Off-Broadway musicals is directed by Oliver Butler with choreography by Camille A. Brownand music direction by Chris Fenwick. The Kleban Foundation's 24th annual Kleban Prize for the most promising musical theatre lyricist has been awarded to Nathan Tysen and the 24th annual Kleban Prize for the most promising musical theatre librettist has been awarded to Arthur Perlman.The 2014 prizes were presented last night, June 23, 2014, in a private ceremony (by invitation only) hosted by ASCAP and BMI. Stageworks Media will present an industry reading of GIRLS JUST WANT TO HAVE FUN, a New High School Musical written by Eric Price and directed by Daniel Goldstein (Godspell). Set in a prep school, GIRLS JUST WANT TO HAVE FUN is a modern retelling of the Jane Austin classic Emma, and features a score comprised of contemporary pop songs made famous by female singers, songwriters, and female-led bands. GIRLS JUST WANT TO HAVE FUN will be presented on Friday, June 20th at 11:00 am at 54Below (254 West 54th Street, NYC).
