On Monday January 19th, 2015 acclaimed songwriter Scott Alan will make his concert debut at 54 Below in celebration of his sixth studio album, 'Greatest Hits: Volume One.' The evening is being billed as an 'intimate night of storytelling feature many guests from the Broadway stage.'

On Monday, December 1, the Theater People Podcast welcomes ON THE TOWN star Alysha Umphress. Umphress shares fascinating stories from her journey with the project including her decision, after a slew of ensemble roles in Broadway shows, to only be seen for principal parts which led to this opportunity.

54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents "The Songs of Adam Wachter: Just Come To This" on Monday, November 10 at 9:30pm. The evening will feature works by up-and-coming and eternally youthful musical theater composer/lyricist Adam Wachter, including original songs from his new musical Tarrytown, the hit web series "The Battery's Down" and "Submissions Only," and new material written specifically for this concert, as well as new arrangements of well-known songs from his varied career as a music director and arranger, all performed by a starry group of his obscenely talented, generous, and attention-hungry Broadway veteran friends. Broadway's 40 theatres aren't the only places to catch performances from your favorite stars! Well after Broadway orchestra's begin their overtures, ensemble members take their dance breaks, and performers belt out their eleven- o'clock numbers, the party continues at various cabaret venues throughout New York City. The new Broadway revival of ON THE TOWN will be recorded today, November 3, for a two-disc cast album to be released by PS Classics. ON THE TOWN, which features a book and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green, music by Leonard Bernstein, and is based on an idea by Jerome Robbins, is currently running at Broadway's Lyric Theatre (213 W 42nd St, New York, NY 10036).

Just last week, On the Town returned to Broadway in a revival directed by John Rando, which is running at the Lyric Theatre. Before Alysha Umphress and Jay Armstrong Johnson took on the iconic roles of Hildy and Chip, Lea DeLaria and Jesse Tyler Ferguson played them in the 1998 Broadway revival. The most recent revival of 'On the Town', the 1944 smash hit based on Jerome Robbins' 'Fancy Free' ballet about three sailors on 24-hour shore leave in NYC, is first-rate on all counts. Right from the moment that the booming bass-baritone voice of Phillip Boykin joins the audience singing 'The Star Spangled Banner' as he strolls down an aisle, the show captivates with professionalism and energy that are sustained throughout the evening.

To kick off the release of famed Sirius XM radio host Seth Rudetsky new book Seth's Broadway Diary, Dress Circle Publishing (Brisa Trinchero and Roberta Pereira, founders) hosted a special book launch concert event last night at Don't Tell Mama (343 W 46th St). Broadway stars Kelli O'Hara, Judy Kuhn, Anika Larsen, Hunter Bell, Jeff Bowen, Chip Zien and Marc Shaiman who are featured in the book performed excerpts and some of Seth's favorite songs.
