In the bleak corporate break room of a craft store in Idaho, someone is summoning The Rapture. Will, who has fled his rural hometown after a scandal at his Evangelical church, comes to the Hobby Lobby not only for employment but also to rekindle a relationship with Alex, his brooding teenage son, whom he gave up for adoption several years ago. Alex works there along with Leroy, his adopted brother and protector, and Anna, a hapless young woman who reads bland fiction but hopes for dramatic endings. As their manager, foul-mouthed Pauline, tries ceaselessly to find order (and profit) in the chaos of small business, these lost souls of the Hobby Lobby confront an unyielding world through the beige-tinted impossibility of modern faith. ?Company of Fools (COF) opens its 21st season with the haunting and often hilarious  musical, Grey Gardens, with book by Doug Wright, music by Scott Frankel and lyrics by Michael Korie. Performances run June 28-July 20 at the Liberty Theatre in Hailey. When it premiered on Broadway in 2006, Grey Gardens was hailed as Time magazine's number one show of the year and garnered 10 Tony Award nominations. (more...)

Last performed in 2010, our community has sent a constant plea to share this favorite with a new generation of children. This smash-hit Broadway musical, A Year with Frog and Toad, with music by Robert Reale, book and lyrics by Willie Reale and developed by Adrianne Lobel, runs tonight, December 16-January 3, 2010, at the Liberty Theatre in Hailey. With book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire and music by Jeanine Tesori, the timeless fairytale of rescued damsel in distress takes many fun and quirky twists as the green and stinky swampland ogre saves Princess Fiona and wins her love. Virginia Repertory Theatre celebrates the 60th anniversary of the founding of Barksdale Theatre at Hanover Tavern with a production of Steel Magnolias featuring an all-star cast. The show opens tonight, July 12, 2013 at Hanover Tavern, 13181 Hanover Courthouse Road, and runs through August 25, coinciding with the official anniversary on August 1. Sixty years ago in 1953, six actors, two children, a dog and two pigs moved into a historic ruin called Hanover Tavern. The transplanted New Yorkers founded Central Virginia's first professional theatre and named the company in memory of a deceased college friend, Barbara Barksdale. (more...)
