The latest standings as of Monday, December 19th, have been released for the 2022 BroadwayWorld New Jersey Awards! Nominations were reader-submitted and now our readers get to vote for their favorites.

Premiere Stages at Kean University is now presenting the New Jersey Premiere of Dominique Morisseau’s powerful, modern-day drama, 'Mud Row.'

Quintessence Theatre Group, Philadelphia's professional classic repertory theatre, will conclude with Season XII: Breaking the Cycle with a rotating repertory of Pearl Cleage’s epic historical fiction Flyin' West and Alexandre Dumas fils’ enduring tragic romance Camille. 

Woodie King Jr.’s New Federal Theatre in association with The Peccadillo Theater Company will present the World Premiere of Gong Lum’s Legacy by Charles L. White, directed by Elizabeth Van Dyke with Associate Director Dan Wackerman, March 24-April 24 at Theatre @ St. Clements.

Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning American playwright August Wilson’s play “Radio Golf” will officially open the 2021-2022 mainstage season at Gulfshore Playhouse. Directed by Marshall Jones III, “Radio Golf” will play at Gulfshore Playhouse beginning Nov. 11 through Dec. 5, 2021.

Premiere Stages in Union, under the artistic direction of John J. Wooten, will present an outdoor production of the one-woman show, Fannie Lou Hamer, Speak On It! The show will be performed from 10/15 to 10/18 at The Tent at The Liberty Hall Museum.

From May 16 to 27, The Negro Ensemble Company, Inc. will present the world premiere production of 'Hercules Didn't Wade in the Water' by Michael A Jones.  The play is winner of the troupe's 2017 Emerging Playwrights Competition.  Called a 'drama with comedy,' it is a story of displacement of Black families and the forces that lead to it in modern America.  Performances are at Theatre 80 St. Marks, 80 St. Marks Place.

The piece is historically NEC's most famous and successful play. It was produced last fall at Theatre 80 St. Marks as the culminating event of NEC's landmark 50th season, playing to full houses and glowing notices. The cast of that revival will return intact for the Gene Frankel Theatre run.

The production takes audiences on a deeply personal, high energy journey into the private and public life of this famed Underground Railroad conductor, spiritual icon, revolutionary, and entrepreneur, whose life spanned nine decades and still influences the consciousness of people throughout the world. The production is directed by Clinton Turner Davis and will take stage February 8 to March 4 at Castillo Theatre, 543 West 42nd Street.
