The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) is pleased to present Best of Both Worlds, a new musical for the whole family.

In celebration of Black History Month 2010, The Working Theater (Mark Plesent, Producing Director) will present award-winning Broadway star André De Shields performing his solo work-in-progress entitled Mine Eyes Have Seen The Glory: From Douglass to Deliverance for 12 performances only from Thursday, February 4 through Sunday February 14 at the Abingdon Theater. Conceived, researched and written by Mr. De Shields, Mine Eyes is directed by Alfred Preisser, former Artistic Director, Classical Theatre of Harlem, where Mr. De Shields has frequently performed.

Have you ever sat in on a production of Moliere's classic comedy Tartuffe and wondered what exactly it was about the religious services of the title character that made the wealthy Orgon want to donate everything he had to his church? Me neither. But apparently playwrights Alfred Preisser and Randy Weiner have and their answer is the Classical Theater of Harlem's crazily entertaining semi-spoof, Archbishop Supreme Tartuffe.

After founding the Classical Theatre of Harlem (CTH) and serving as the company's Artistic Director and Executive Director for the past eleven seasons respectively, Alfred Preisser and Christopher McElroen will depart the Off-Broadway theatre this November.

The 2009 Vivian Robinson/Audelco Recognition Awards, which recognize for Excellence in Black Theatre, have been announced. Now in thier 37th year, the awards will be presented at a ceremony at the HarlemStages/Aaron Davis Hall on Monday, November 16 at 7pm.

Thirteen theatres (13) theatres and ten (10) individuals have been selected to participate in the ninth round of the New Generations Program, a grant initiative cooperatively designed by the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and Theatre Communications Group (TCG). In nine rounds of the program, over $12.5 million in grants have been awarded to over 200 theatres in support of three grant objectives.

The Irish Arts Center, in association with Classical Theatre of Harlem, presents a one-week only special engagement of Donal O'Kelly's The Cambria, directed by Raymond Keane and starring Mr. O'Kelly and Sorcha Fox. The Cambria opens on Tuesday, March 17 for a strictly limited engagement through Sunday, March 22. The performance schedule is Tuesday ? Friday at 8:00 PM; Saturday at 2:00 PM and 8:00 PM; and Sunday at 3:00 PM. Performances take place at the Donaghy Theatre at the Irish Arts Center (553 West 51st Street, between 10th and 11th Avenues). The OBIE, Drama Desk and Lortel Award-winning Classical Theatre of Harlem (CTH) will begin their 10th Anniversary Season with a new production of Anton Chekhov's classic THREE SISTERS, directed by CTH Co-Founder Christopher McElroen (The Cherry Orchard). Performances will be at Harlem Stage Gatehouse, 150 Convent Avenue at West 135th Street, and will begin on Thursday, February 5th. Opening night is scheduled for Wednesday, February 18th and the show will run through Sunday, March 8th.
