Producer Jeffrey Seller and Broadway In Chicago announced today the addition of 16 more weeks for HAMILTON at The PrivateBank Theatre (18 W. Monroe) putting tickets on sale for performances through January 7, 2018.

Jevon McFerrin, the young actor who has portrayed Alexander Hamilton in Hamilton on Broadway as an alternate to the musical's lead Javier Muñoz, will step into the role effective immediately while Mr. Muñoz takes a medical leave to recover from a physical injury, it has been announced by Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller.

The innovative educational program that launched last year at Hamilton on Broadway, in partnership with The Rockefeller Foundation, will debut in Chicago today, February 22, when 1,900 students and teachers from 30 Chicago Public Schools (CPS) attend the matinee performance of the musical at Broadway In Chicago's The PrivateBank Theatre (18 W. Monroe Street).

Today the Orpheum Theatre Group unveiled the highly anticipated 2017-2018 Broadway Season at an announcement party at the historic Orpheum Theatre. Attendees were the first to hear about next season's exciting offerings. HAMILTON was officially announced as part of the Orpheum's 2018-2019 Broadway Season.

The national tour of the Broadway musical HAMILTON will play at DPAC in 2018 as part of SunTrust Broadway at DPAC, 2018 / 2019 Season, it was announced today by producer Jeffrey Seller and Nederlander. 

#EduHam is a series of HAMILTON Wednesday matinees made available to New York City schools with a high concentration of students from low-income families for the ticket price of only $10. This educational partnership, made possible through a $1.46 million grant by The Rockefeller Foundation, is not only providing 20,000 NYC public school students with the opportunity to see HAMILTON on Broadway, but provides educational material by Gilder Lehrman to incorporate material from the musical into the American History curriculum.

Of course, high school can be hard for teenagers with other musical tastes, too. Amid growing public awareness of teenage violence, suicide, and depression, and with scientific studies confirming that the brains of teenagers are basically chaos machines, DEAR EVAN HANSEN has turned a spotlight on these issues, and audiences have responded warmly and gratefully. In the story, alienated teen Evan Hansen, who leads a lonely life with his hardworking single mother, has no real friends in high school; neither does another, still more troubled student, Connor Murphy, whose sister Zoe is the unwitting object of Evan's affections. When Connor commits suicide, a series of misunderstandings prompts Evan to pass himself off as Connor's best friend, an identity that gains him access to Connor's intact family, privileged lifestyle, and especially his lovely sister. This charade creates tensions and complications that lead, ultimately, to the truth.
