August Wilson's hard-hitting 'Ma Rainey's Black Bottom' opened September 11 and continues through October 16, 2016, at the Center Theatre Group/ Mark Taper Forum. After last season's uproarious adaptation of Doreen Cronin's Click, Clack, Moo, Columbia Children's Theatre (CCT)--the Midlands' only professional theatre for families and young audiences--will present a new musical adaptation of her next book Duck for President, September 16 - 25. 

Due to an overwhelming response the Expressions of Interest for White Night Ballarat have been extended to September 11, 2016. The inaugural White Night Ballarat will burst to life taking over the city's streets, laneways, parklands, public spaces and cultural institutions of Ballarat on Saturday 4 March, 2017.

White Night Melbourne will return to the streets, laneways and gardens of the CBD from dusk till dawn on Saturday 18 February, 2017 and due to an overwhelming demand the Expressions of Interest have been extended to August 30, 2016.

David Atkins OAM announced as White Night Artistic Director and Executive Producer   Minister for Tourism and Major Events The Hon John Eren joined the City of Ballarat Mayor Cr Des Hudson today at the Mining Exchange in Ballarat to announce the dates and locations for White Night 2017 and the newly appointed Artistic Director and Executive Producer David Atkins OAM.

The Kennedy Center Honors announced today that its honorees for 2016 will be Argentine pianist Martha Argerich, rock band the Eagles, screen and stage actor Al Pacino, gospel and blues singer Mavis Staples and musician James Taylor.

Ehrenkranz Artistic Director Jane Moss today announced the schedule for Lincoln Center's seventh White Light Festival, running from October 16 through November 16, 2016. The international multidisciplinary festival, which takes its name from a quotation by the Estonian composer Arvo Part, is an annual exploration of the power of art to illuminate our interior and communal lives. 'I could compare my music to white light which contains all colors. Only a prism can divide the colors and make them appear; this prism could be the spirit of the listener.' - Arvo Part

Drake White and The Big Fire will open for Zac Brown Band's “Jekyll + Hyde” tour stop at Comerica Park on Saturday, September 12 at 7 p.m. Drake White performed at the 33rd Annual WYCD Downtown Hoedown earlier this summer at West Riverfront Park.

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Saturday evening's performance of On the Twentieth Century was canceled due to an ill Peter Gallagher. Understudy James Moye has stepped into the role of 'Oscar Jaffe' since. BroadwayWorld has just learned that Gallagher is still out of the show to recover from a severe sinus infection. He is set to return to the production on Tuesday, March 3.

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Saturday evening's performance of On the Twentieth Century was canceled due to an ill Peter Gallagher. Understudy James Moye has stepped into the role of 'Oscar Jaffe' since. BroadwayWorld has just learned that Gallagher will remain out of the show tonight, but a representative for the production told BroadwayWord that he is 'hopeful he will back tomorrow.'

Following this weekend's scoop that Tony-nominee Peter Gallagher had fallen ill, causing a last-minute cancellation of Roundabout's ON THE TWENTIETH CENTURY on Saturday night, BroadwayWorld has confirmed that the actor remains under the weather, and his understudy, James Moye, will take the stage this week for a short series of performances.

Tonight's performance of ON THE TWENTIETH CENTURY was canceled due to an ill Peter Gallagher, and, as is normal for a show in early previews - the understudy (James Moye) is not yet fully rehearsed.
