LESSER AMERICA Granted Home at Iconic THEATER FOR THE NEW CITY

After working together on the critically acclaimed run of the original play 'Keep Your Baggage With You (at all times)' at Theater for the New City in 2010 (written by Jonathan Blitstein, directed by Daniel Talbott), Daniel Abeles, Jonathan Blitstein, Nate Miller and Laura Ramadei teamed up to launch a new theater company called LESSER AMERICA. Theater For the New City has granted Lesser America a residency affording the group three full-scale productions in its inaugural year, the first residency of its kind at the theater.

The beloved, Tony Award-winning actress Marian Seldes will be honored at the 2011 LOVE 'N' COURAGE Gala - a benefit for the award-winning Theater for the New City's Emerging Playwrights Program - on Monday, February 28 at 6:30 p.m. at the National Arts Club (15 Gramercy Park South in Manhattan), it has been announced by Crystal Field, co-founder and artistic director of Theater for the New City.
Tribeca Film and Miramax Announce Distribution Deal for 'Last Night' Film

Tribeca Film and Miramax today announced they are teaming up on the U.S. release of Last Night, an intricately layered relationship drama starring Keira Knightley, Sam Worthington, Eva Mendes and Guillaume Canet. Tribeca Film has acquired theatrical, VOD and select digital rights to Last Night and plans to release the film in Spring 2011 theatrically in multiple U.S. markets, including New York and Los Angeles, and also via national VOD outlets and on additional platforms.

Theater for the New City (Crystal Field, Executive Director) will present Tom Diriwachter's AGE OUT, a play based on Tom's own experiences working as a waiter in Times Square. Age Out was first developed at Theater for the New City as part of the Chrysalis Workshop directed by Lissa Moira and will close on January 30.
