This October, Penobscot Theatre Company has tricks and treats in store for audiences near and far. The country's Northeastern-most, professional theatre company will digitally present three unique offerings: Ghost Hunting in Bangor, ME, an interactive opera house ghost hunt; The Glitch Witch, a magical mystery musical; and Ghost Postcards from Maine, a bewitching audio experience.   

Penobscot Theatre Company, the northeastern-most professional, regional theatre in the country, is proud to announce its upcoming holiday production of Matilda the Musical. Based on the book by Roald Dahl, Matilda tells the story of an imaginative young girl who emerges victorious in the face of adversity. Playing from December 5-29 at the historic Bangor Opera House, Matilda is sure to delight and inspire audiences.

Penobscot Theatre Company is capping its 43rd season with a feel-good musical that has charmed audiences worldwide: The Full Monty (book by Terrence McNally and music and lyrics by David Yazbek) will open in previews June 15 and run through July 9, with 21 performances at the historic Bangor Opera House.

Penobscot Theatre Company's Dramatic Academy is proud to present The Wedding Singer, July 16-19, at the historic Bangor Opera House. Penobscot Theatre Company will present Maine's professional premiere of August: Osage County, written by Tracy Letts and directed by Bari Newport, April 30 through May 17, at the historic Bangor Opera House. It is the outrageous story of three generations of Weston women, reunited in the wake of tragedy and tugging at the ties that bind. Humor proves a thin veil for decades of deceit and disappointment, but when old resentments rise to the surface and secrets are shared, laughter is the only recourse.

Registration is now open for Penobscot Theatre Company's Dramatic Academy Summer 2015, with opportunities for young performers, developing technicians, and those simply exploring the craft.

Penobscot Theatre Company has announced a special half-season subscription offer to take the chill off this January. For just $90, half-season subscribers can enjoy all three remaining shows of the season, a savings of up to $21.

The 2013-2014 Season marks the 40th Anniversary for Penobscot Theatre Company, the most Northeastern year-round, professional theatre in the country. The company, which owns and operates the historic Bangor Opera House, has announced its upcoming season lineup.
