    Germantown Community Theatre has announced the slate of productions for their 2015-2016 season. The season blends music, theatre for youth, classic literature and raucous fun. Titles include Neil Simon's RUMORS, the movie-turned-musical DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS and Tennessee Williams' A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE. Memberships for the season range from $60 to $200 and are on sale through the GCT box office at (901) 937.3023. The 2015-2016 season of Germantown Community Theatre is sponsored by the City of Germantown, Tennessee Arts Commission, ArtsMemphis, the GCT Trust and the Germantown Arts Alliance. (more...)

    Lincoln Center Theater has announced the first two productions of its 2015-2016 season: DADA WOOF PAPA HOT, a new play by Peter Parnell, to be directed by Scott Ellis, beginning performances Thursday, October 15 and opening Monday, November 9 at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater; and the LCT3 world premiere production of KILL FLOOR, a new play by Abe Koogler, to be directed by Lila Neugebauer, which will begin performances Saturday, October 3, open on Monday, October 19, and run through Sunday, November 15 at the Claire Tow Theater (150 West 65 Street).     Previews begin tomorrow, today, March 20 for the Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) world premiere of IOWA, a new musical play written by Susan Smith Blackburn Prize finalist Jenny Schwartz (God's Ear, Somewhere Fun), music by Todd Almond (Stage Kiss at PH, Kansas City Choir Boy, The Tempest, On the Levee) and lyrics by Mr. Almond and Ms. Schwartz. Directed by two-time Obie Award winner Ken Rus Schmoll (Red Dog Howls, Middletown, What Once We Felt; next season's Antlia Pneumatica at PH), the musical play will be the fifth production of the theater company's 2014/2015 Season.     On the heels of successful runs at the Royal George in Chicago, and at Laguna Playhouse and The Broad in Southern California, JACK LEMMON RETURNS makes its way to California's Central Coast for a limited engagement March 11 through March 29 at Ventura's Rubicon Theatre. This enchanting play-with-music is both a revealing portrait of legendary actor Jack Lemmon (Mister Roberts, Some Like it Hot, Days of Wine and Roses, The Odd Couple), and an in-depth, personal look at his relationship with his only son, actor and musician Chris Lemmon (Duets, That's Life, Lena's Holiday, etc.). The production is adapted and directed by impresario Hershey Felder, whose gifts for melding music and story have been celebrated through productions of George Gershwin Alone, Maestro Bernstein and The Pianist of Willesden Lane.     George Street Playhouse and Artistic Director David Saint welcome New Jersey native John Tartaglia, from the original Broadway cast of Avenue Q, as well as TV's Sesame Street and the Emmy Award - nominated Johnny and the Sprites to New Brunswick as the sole cast member of Buyer & Cellar, the fourth production of the New Brunswick theatre's current season. Mr. Tartaglia will take the fictional journey to the fictional version of Barbra Streisand's fictional basement through March 29. Opening night is set for tonight, March 6.
