American Composers Orchestra's (ACO) 2012-13 concert season is a banner year for the orchestra, marked by unprecedented opportunities for composers through three initiatives that illustrate ACO's role as a catalyst for the creation of new orchestral music: CoLABoratory: Playing It UNsafe, ACO's groundbreaking composition and performance laboratory; the 22nd annual Underwood New Music Readings, one of the country's most sought-after programs for emerging composers (DiMenna Center, May 30-31, 2013); and the nationwide expansion of the Jazz Composers Orchestra Institute Readings in partnership with The Center for Jazz Studies at Columbia University and The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music (DiMenna Center, June 1-2, 2013).

The second annual 'Night of A Thousand Judys' - the Pride concert to benefit The Ali Forney Center - will take place at Playwrights Horizons on Monday, June 18. The show is a special presentation of the variety show The Meeting* hosted by Justin Sayre.

Gotham Dance Festival returns for two weeks, presenting five programs that feature the work of more than ten choreographers, including a program celebrating the choreographic work of American women, both established and emerging talents. For the first time the Young People's Chorus of New York City, under its Artistic Director/Founder Francisco J. Núñez, is scheduling two performances of its perennially sold-out, annual 'Spring Celebration: A Family Concert,' which takes place this year on Saturday, June 9 at the 92nd Street Y. The concerts will be presented at 3:30 p.m. in the afternoon and again at 7 p.m. in the evening.

Violinist and artistic director Gil Morgenstern's acclaimed Reflections Series celebrates five years of innovative programming in its intimate home at WMP Concert Hall (31 East 28th Street, NYC), described by New York Magazine as, "a miniature version of a European aristocrat's music room." Due to the success of the series, most programs will now have two performances. Season tickets are now available. Feinstein's at Loews Regency continues its Spring 2012 season with the debut of multi-award winning singer Jennifer Sheehan in her new show "I Know A Place." Sheehan and her trio traverse the vast spectrum of music that was the sensational soundtrack of the '60s. Plus, she shares how younger generations are falling in love with these classic songs just as their parents did. Brimming with songs and stories, "I Know A Place" features music by songwriters such as Burt Bacharach, The Beatles and Antonio Carlos Jobim and songs made famous by Barbra Streisand, Petula Clark, Carole King and more. I saw the program. It was inspiring and uplifting. The cohesive choreography included "Arden Court," "Home," "Journey" and "Revelations." The dancers performed with a controlled strength, gliding, leaping and soaring.

With a revival of Arthur Miller's masterpiece, Death of a Salesman, now running on Broadway, come hear Tony Kushner lead a group of his contemporaries in a discussion of the play.
