Off-Broadway and cabaret singer-songwriters Anya Turner and Robert Grusecki have issued their eighth studio album, In This Raggedy Time, which they'll celebrate at Don't Tell Mama on Sunday, May 29; Saturday, June 18; and Tuesday July 19, all at 7 PM.

Barbara Bleier and Austin Pendleton are at it again. But to be honest, even during the pandemic they were never gone. They created a show that Pangea streamed for virtual audiences. Tonight that show LIFE, AND LOVE, AND WHO KNOWS WHAT ELSE?  had its debut in front of a live audience in the back room of Pangea. Bleier explained to us that when they were putting the show together two years ago, they intended to write a show with a political theme. But in these extraordinary times, they have discovered that really everything is political. Everything. And that’s the show they have put together: an evening about the politics of patriotism, the politics of career, the politics of aging, the politics of men and women, the politics of marriage, the politics of family, and the politics of falling in love. It is, in fact, a show about everything.

ANYA TURNER & ROBERT GRUSECKI have announced the publication of their first book, WORDS MATTER, a collection of lyrics, essays, monologues, and photographs. The 301-page book with 125 color pages includes 108 lyrics from their CD recordings, Off-Broadway musicals, revues, and their recent #SongsOfComfort YouTube Music Video Series.

Broadway's Future Songbook Series - presented by Arts and Artists of Tomorrow continues its season on Monday, December 16th in the Bruno Walter Auditorium at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center located at 111 Amsterdam Avenue and 65th Street. Show time is 6PM and admission is FREE.

Of course, the prospect of a little snow wouldn't deter honorees from coming out, though it did slightly impact the order of the evening's events, shifting the 'grand finale' to the 'grand opening.'

Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Darlene Love, whomRolling Stone has called "one of the greatest singers of all time," and stage actress and cabaret and concert singer Carol Woods are among the artists who will be honored at the 32nd Annual Bistro Awards Gala on Monday, March 13 at 6:30 pm at Gotham Comedy Club, 208 W. 23rd St. As is the Bistro Award tradition, the evening will feature performances by the winners.
