BETHUNE: OUR BLACK VELVET ROSE To Have World Premiere At Theaterlab In NYC


TLab Shares hosts RPR Productions in The World Premiere of BETHUNE: Our Black Velvet Rose. The production runs October 7 - 23 with an official opening date of October 9 at Theaterlab in New York City.

MCC Theater has announced the passing of performer and MCC Founding Co-Artistic Director Bob LuPone. LuPone passed this morning following a three-year battle with pancreatic cancer.

Originally from the Philippines, Miguel Braganza II, Walter Terry scholar in the dance performance and choreography program at Harvard University in the '80s, and assistant to Tony Award-winning director John Dexter in the original Broadway production of 'M. Butterfly' from 1988-1990, joined the cast of the U.S. and international productions (Germany, Canada, UK, and Portugal) of Cameron Mackintosh's megamusical 'Miss Saigon' for 14 years: a feat that made him feel so blessed, and has prompted him to donate his time, talents, and resources by teaching young and up-and-coming artists, build libraries, and promote arts programs both in New York and in the Philippines to this day.

TampaWorks is an evening of short plays set in Tampa Bay area locations. This year's TampaWorks is totally a Stageworks production. Playwrights from all over central Florida submitted scripts. The submissions were evaluated by a panel of judges, who chose eight short plays for the production. The production is being sponsored in part by Tucker/Hall, The Tampa Chamber Of Commerce and The Tampa Downtown Partnership. All Artists participating will receive an honorarium so are basically donating a substantial portion of their time and talents. BroadwayWorld has a sneak peek at this year's productions below!?

TampaWorks is an evening of short plays set in Tampa Bay area locations. The first edition took place in June, 2012. It was a production of the Stagewrights playwriting group and its sponsoring organization, Stageworks Theatre.
