Barter Theatre announces the 2020 season packed with hit musicals, classic literature, new works, and everything in between. As always at Barter Theatre there is something for everyone in the 2020 season.

Barter Theatre announces the lineup for its 17th annual Appalachian Festival of Plays and Playwrights (AFPP). Barter has a rich tradition of producing new plays, and this year six original plays and one mini-production will be presented before audiences.

Koch (US, 2012, 95 min.) will receive its New York City premiere at the New York Jewish Film Festival at Lincoln Center's Walter Reade Theater on Thursday, January 10 at 6 pm and Sunday, January 13 at 3:30 pm. Ed Koch will participate in the Q&A session following the January 13 screening. Neil Barsky, director of the film, will appear at the Q&A session after the January 10 screening. The Jewish Museum and the Film Society of Lincoln Center will present the 22nd annual New York Jewish Film Festival at the Film Society's Walter Reade Theater, Jan. 9-24, 2013. The festival's 45 features and shorts from 9 countries - 23 screening in their world, U.S. or New York premieres - provide a diverse global perspective on the Jewish experience. Many film screenings will be followed by filmmakers and special guests in onstage discussions.

Parks & Recreation Commissioner Adrian Benepe today joined City Council Member James Vacca, Assembly Member Michael Benedetto, Representative to the Bronx Borough President Wilhelm Ronda, members of Community Board 10 and the Westchester Square / Zurega Improvement District, and neighborhood children to cut the ribbon on nearly $2 million in improvements to Pearly Gates Playground. The park is located at St. Peters and Tratman Avenues in the Bronx.
