The Realness, directed by Maggie Norris, is “an urban musical” that tells the story of Jay Johnson, a man who has been released from prison. Determined to change for the better, Jay is working to try to stay straight, but soon finds himself being pulled back into the world that had sent him to prison in the first place.

The Big House will be producing the first remounting of the urban musical The Realness since its sold-out debut at Hackney Downs Studios in 2014.

Storyhouse has announcede the appointment of a new Chair of its Board of Trustees.   David Watson will take up the role in November when the current Chair Peter Mearns steps down after seven years on the Board. 

The world premiere of Slice by David Watson is set to open at the Atwater Playhouse May 13th. Slice is a deep, probing, emotional conversation between father and son; man to man, bare knuckled, leaving no topic off the table. The show is directed by Joe Mellis and produced by David Watson.
