The Audio Publishers Association has announced finalists for the 2023 Audie Awards®, the premier awards program recognizing distinction in audiobooks and spoken-word entertainment. Winners across 26 competitive categories will be revealed at the Audie Awards Gala on March 28. The ceremony will be streamed to the public from Chelsea Piers’ Pier Sixty in NYC.

 Bergen County Players, one of America's longest-running little theater companies, is pleased to continue its 2019-2020 season with the Tony-nominated play, 33 Variations. Written by Moisés Kaufman (The Laramie Project) and directed by Steve Bell, 33 Variations will be performed at the Little Firehouse Theatre in Oradell from January 11th through February 1st, 2020. 

Bergen County Players (BCP) continues its 87th season with A Comedy of Tenors, written by Ken Ludwig and directed by Bill Kaufman. A Comedy of Tenors runs October 26th through November 16th, with curtain at 8 pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 pm on Sundays. All performances will take place at the Little Firehouse Theatre, 298 Kinderkamack Road in Oradell. Actress, writer, filmmaker and comedian Noël Wells is excited to release the music video for her new single “Played for Keeps,” the opener to her highly anticipated, debut full-length album titledIt's So Nice! “Played for Keeps” was written in an afternoon while Wells happened to be Airbnbing actress Connie Britton's house while in Austin shooting a pilot, a fact that has very little to do with the song except relational awe. Produced by James Jones and David Thomas Jones, “Played for Keeps” follows the release of “Sad Girl Blues,“ “Sunrise” and “Star,” three album tracks praised by the likes of NYLON, Consequence of Sound, Stereogum, Paste and more. 

STEEPLECHASE, a new dark comedy by Chris Nelson with direction by Maridee Slater begins as part of New York Theater Festival's Summerfest at Hudson Guild Theater (441 West 26th Street) on Monday August 19th with subsequent performances on August 23rd and 25th. The cast includes Valerie Redd*, James O'Hagan-Murphy*, Amy Laird Webb, Rob McDermott, Joel Reyer, Schuyler Van Amson, Tyra Hardy, Cristina Lucas* and Allison Pappas. *(Member of Actors Equity). Shakespeare by the Sea announces productions, cast and creatives for its 20th Anniversary Season. Based at the gorgeous Pt. Fermin Park in San Pedro, and touring to twenty-three parks throughout Southern California, Shakespeare by the Sea is celebrating 20 years of fulfilling its mission to create theatrical experiences for audiences in culturally diverse communities to make theatre accessible to all. For this milestone anniversary, SBTS has selected two of Shakespeare's most popular and beloved plays, Macbeth and The Taming of the Shrew.

Set in 1931 Berlin, Cabaret primarily takes place amid the nightlife of the seedy Kit Kat Klub. Life there revolves around the 19-year-old English cabaret performer, Sally Bowles and her relationship with the young American writer, Cliff Bradshaw. Overseeing the action is the mysterious Master of Ceremonies at the Kit Kat Klub, which serves as a metaphor for ominous political developments in Germany as the Nazis rise to power. Director Alan Demovsky encourages the audience to ask questions: "Why have so many versions of this story been told for almost 100 years? Is it truly a cautionary tale? Can this happen again? Is it perpetually happening?"
