Many people lose themselves a little bit as middle age approaches. When “Becky’s New Car” at Theatre Tallahassee puts one woman’s experience of realizing she has worked too hard and (perhaps) played too little on stage, surprises await.

CAT Theatre presents BECKY'S NEW CAR by Steven Dietz, directed by Ann Davis, opening Friday, February 8 and running through February 23, 2019. As part of the Acts of Faith Theatre Festival, there will be talk-backs after both Sunday performances.

Becky's New Car, written by Steven Dietz as part of ACT Theatre's New Works for the American Stage program in 2008, follows the story of Becky Foster, a wife and mother who works at a car dealership. Simultaneously funny and poignant, the play explores the question of what makes life most fulfilling-contentment or adventure. Becky's New Car opened in the studio theatre at DreamWrights Center For Community Arts on August 2.

The Santa Paula Theater Center announces auditions BECKY'S NEW CAR by Steven Dietz, directed by Jessi May Stevenson. Auditions will be held on Saturday, July 1 from 1:00-4:00 pm and Monday, July 3 from 7:00-9:00 pm at the Santa Paula Theater Center, 125 So. 7th Street, Santa Paula. Cold readings will be from the script (side pages listed below). No appointments are necessary. This is a non-union show. There is no pay.
