Just last night, Primary Stages held its 35th Anniversary Gala, honor ingPulitzer Prize nominee Theresa Rebeck (Downstairs, Bernhardt/Hamlet), and Tony Award-winning producers from the Primary Stages family Jamie deRoy (The Ferryman, Little Women), Dasha Epstein (Ain't Misbehavin', Exits and Entrances), Susan Rose (The Band's Visit, Sabina), and Cheryl Wiesenfeld (Ain't Too Proud, In the Continuum). 

Friends And Colleagues To Gather Together to Celebrate the Life and Career of Charlotte Rae

Friends of Charlotte will gather for a celebration of her life and distinguished career on Broadway, films and television on Thursday, November 1.  Charlotte passed away on August 5th.  The New York City invitational Celebration is hosted by Ted Seifman, Jim Brochu, David Staller and Ted Snowdon.  For more information 212 355-7823 or info@gingoldgroup.org.

BWW TV: Chatting with The Stars Of S.T.A.G.E. 2016

The Southland Theatre Artists Goodwill Event (S.T.A.G.E.) Benefit titled Sondheim 5, took place June 18th at Beverly Hills' beautiful Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in benefit of AIDS Project Los Angeles.  The much anticipated event, was once again directed by David Galligan.  Michael Orland served as Musical Director, with Choreography by Lee Martino; and BroadwayWorld TV's own Michael Sterling was on hand to talk to the stars just prior to their first of two performances.

The critically acclaimed production began previews on June 13th and officially opened on June 19th.

The producers of Tennessee Williams' The Two-Character Play starring Tony Award winner Amanda Plummer (Agnes of God, Pulp Fiction,Hunger Games: Catching Fire) and Academy Award nominee Brad Dourif (One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Deadwood), now playing throughSeptember 29th at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street), are pleased to welcome Rob Sedgwick and Elize (Lisi) Russell to the company. The pair will perform the roles usually played by Mr. Dourif and Ms. Plummer at the Monday, September 9 and Wednesday, September 11 (matinee & evening) performances, while Mr. Dourif is out of town attending a funeral of a close relative who recently passed away.

The producers of the highly anticipated production of Tennessee Williams' The Two-Character Play, uniting the talents of Tony Award winner Amanda Plummer (Agnes of God, Pulp Fiction) and Academy Award nominee Brad Dourif (One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest), directed by Gene David Kirk, which began previews at New World Stages(340 West 50th Street) on June 13, announced today that due to an injury sustained by Ms. Plummer, this weekend's preview performances were cancelled and that this evening's performance has been cancelled, as well. However, the show will open on Wednesday evening, June 19, as previously announced.

Tony and three-time Emmy Award-winner Amanda Plummer returns to the New York stage after a 15-year absence, along with Academy Award-nominated actor Brad Dourif (One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest) in the Off-Broadway premiere production of Tennessee Williams' rarely seen The Two-Character Play at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street). Previews begin tonight, June 10. Opening Night is set for June 19 at 8:00 p.m. Equal parts Southern Gothic thriller, black comedy and psychological drama, the work, written during a time of great personal strife, is abstractly based on Williams' close yet complicated relationship with his sister, Rose.
