Florida Studio Theatre hosts a Fifties Shindig on February 27 to celebrate the artistic home that has been cultivated over the last four decades at FST.

When the summer heat turns up, it's time to fire up the grill. FST hosts a Southern-style Back Lot BBQ fundraiser on June 8 at 6pm, and everyone's invited. Complete with live music from the Manatee River Bluegrass Band and all the fixin's - cooked low and slow. Ribs, chicken, pork, you name it…we're grilling it. Florida Studio Theatre will host a 60's Shindig on February 22, 2016 at 5:30pm in the Hegner Theatre Wing. Celebrating FST's ongoing campaign to support the Rosemary Artist Housing Project, this 60's shindig will also include the presentation of this year's Jon Spelman Award. Tickets are $200 per person with proceeds supporting the ongoing work of FST.

This groovy gathering celebrates FST's ongoing campaign to support the Kretzmer Artist Residence Project and the presentation of this year's Jon Spelman Award to Ernie Kretzmer. The Sixties Shindig will bring together invited guests to join them in "havin' a gas" and taking in groovy live entertainment reminiscent of Laugh In comedy and various musical acts. Florida Studio Theatre will host The Play's The Thing: A Celebration of FST's 40th Season on January 27, 2014. It will celebrate the completion of the New Gompertz Theatre campaign, including the renovation of the Gompertz, the opening of the John C. Court Cabaret and the completion of Bowne's Lab Theatre. This event will showcase the vibrant organization that FST is today - a lively five-theatre complex that reaches over 165,000 people every year through a diversity of programs. After a laughter-filled hit winter season, FST Improv returns for a special spring fling run of "April Fools." This hilarious series will feature a no fools barred smack down, culminating in the crowning of the "fool of fools." The comedy begins on Saturday, April 13th for a limited engagement continuing Fridays and Saturdays April 19, 20, 26 and 27 at 8:30 pm in the new John C. Court Cabaret.

Due to a successful opening, the FST Improv troupe will continue to bring on the laughter with two additional performances on Friday, February 8 and Friday, February 15 at 8:30pm. The Improv troupe creates characters and sketches on the spot. Not even the performers know what to expect - until it happens.
