Greensboro Arts Alliance and Residency (GAAR) in Greensboro, Vermont announces its 2019 Mainstage Summer Season, kicking off July 25-28

Twenty-two 'activists, advocates, altruists, aiders and abettors of jazz' in 20 U.S. cities were announced by the Jazz Journalists Association today as the organization's 2019 slate of Jazz Heroes. This year's Heroes, from Amherst, Massachusetts to Los Angeles, California, Seattle to South Florida, are all presenters, educators, non-profit administrators, public faces of grassroots organizations and in several cases active players sustaining and developing America's native-born music in their local communities and beyond. Identical twin brothers, Peter and Will Anderson, have kept a pure love of music and discovery from their childhood at the forefront, as they've built successful careers and found their place in the jazz community. Playing the clarinet and saxophone since grade school, this duo went on to study at The Juilliard School, and through the support of their mentors, were introduced to different sounds and styles and guided to performance opportunities all throughout New York City. Building impressive resumes, they have toured all throughout the United States, as well as internationally, and have worked on composing their own music for numerous albums. Inspiring audiences of all ages, these modern-day trailblazers are keeping the legacies of the greats alive by sharing the soulful history and sounds of jazz that have influenced generations.

Bloomingdale School of Music (BSM) is pleased to present A Jazz Tribute to Leonard Bernstein as part of Leonard Bernstein at 100, the global celebration of one of the greatest musicians of the 20th century on Friday, June 1st at 7:00 pm. This free concert led by BSM faculty member pianist Zach Lapidus, and guest artists bassist Peter Brendler and drummer Aaron Seeber will be held at the school located at 323 West 108th Street. Seating is limited.   Join BSM piano faculty member Zach Lapidus as he performs jazz re-imaginings of Leonard Bernstein's music.

She creates a machine for hearing sounds that cannot be heard by the human ear. Then an evil villain steals the machine, along with Moll's heart, and she goes on a quest to find the machine and preserve the everyday noises of our lives.

In OUTLAWS TO IN-LAWS, seven leading gay writers join forces to tell stories of our lives over seven decades. Opening tonight 31 August at King's Head Theatre, the production runs through 23 September 2017. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below!
