Nichelle Nichols, famous for portraying communications officer Uhura on the original “Star Trek” series, died Saturday night in Silver City, N.M. She was 89 years old.

The film will also be released in a Limited-Edition Collector’s Set entitled “The Complete Adventure,” which includes the new Director’s Edition, the theatrical cut, and a special longer cut all on 4K Ultra HD along with special features on Blu-ray.  In addition, Star Trek: The Original Motion Picture Collection will also be released.

The Skirball Cultural Center will house the Los Angeles debut exhibit of Star Trek: Exploring New Worlds opening October 7, 2021. The Television Academy today announced Star Trek as the 2018 Governors Award recipient, recognizing the visionary science-fiction television franchise and its legacy of boldly propelling science, society and culture where no one has gone before. The prestigious award winner was chosen by the Television Academy board of governors and the honor will be presented to CBS Television Studios during the Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremony on Saturday, September 8, 2018. 

This Sunday evening, May 20th, 2018, SHARE Inc. celebrated their annual 65th Annual Boomtown Gala at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Entertainment Icon, Snoop Dogg stars in the Sci-Fi Parody Adventure Feature Film Unbelievable!!!!!  Snoop Dogg stars as 'Major LeGrande Bushe,' opposite co-producer Nichelle Nichols.  Making their independent feature film debut with Unbelievable!!!!!, husband and wife filmmakers, Writer/Director/EP Steven L. The 5th edition of the North Hollywood CineFest showcased 104 short films and 21 feature films from around the globe at the Laemmle NoHo 7 theater over seven days and in two auditoriums.
