Pasadena Playhouse, the State Theater of California, is pleased to announce that casting is complete for Gather: Surprising Stories & Other Mischief.  Academy and Tony Award Nominee John C. Reilly and an amazing ensemble of actors will craft a spirited evening of Story Theater, which Reilly has created with Patrick Murphy, who will also direct. The production will play Friday, May 24 through Saturday, June 22, in the Carrie Hamilton Theatre of the Pasadena Playhouse.

Bluebarn Theatre ended a highly successful run of Paula Vogel's INDECENT yesterday in Omaha. The play relates the controversial production of Sholem Asch's play 'God of Vengeance' on Broadway in 1923. The cast of the original Broadway production was arrested on the grounds of obscenity. Bluebarn with its cast and crew magnificently turned out one of the most beautifully produced plays in Omaha.

Randall Duk Kim and Anne Occhiogrosso headline Centenary Stage Company's presentation of a free staged reading of Sophocles' drama "Oedipus Rex" on Wednesday, September 19 at 7:30 PM in the Kutz Theatre at the Lackland Performing Arts Center, Hackettstown, New Jersey. The September 19 reading and the master classes that precede and follow it marks the first installment of the 2018 Gates Ferry Lecture Series: "What is Truth?" Gettysburg Community Theatre (GCT) the not-for-profit 501c3 community theatre located at 49 York Street in historic downtown Gettysburg, will present a musical perfect for the whole family, A Year With Frog And Toad, based on the children's books by Arnold Lobel. Tickets can be purchased at the door if there are seats available. A Year With Frog And Toad is GCT's All-Senior Citizen Cast production for 2018. Each actor is retired or semi-retired ages 55+ and enjoys rehearsing during the day, which then allows the theatre to be available for other rehearsals in the evening of working adults and school children. Past Senior Citizen productions at GCT have been Fiddler On The Roof, Once Upon A Mattress, A Charlie Brown Christmas, and Nunsense. This production is made possible in part by grants from the Cultural Alliance of York County, The Robert C. Sam Norkin (1917-2011), who drew Broadway for decades, honoring opening nights with the caricature of a star or the entire company, most notably for the New York Daily News, is the subject of an online exhibition at Broadway Design Exchange, beginning now through November 19.

Passion, as it applies to the need to create and communicate through artistic endeavors, is a word that can be overused. Honoring the anniversary of the birth and death of William Shakespeare, Centenary Stage Company is pleased to present classical theatre giants Randall Duk Kim and Anne Occhiogrosso starring in, The Pleasure of His Company: Our Love Affair with William Shakespeare and the First Folio, an evening of personal recollections, dramatic scenes and stories of Shakespeare's influence on Kim and Occhiogrosso's lives and careers for more than four decades on Sunday, April 23  at 3:00pm in the Lackland Performing Arts Center.

An independent action feature filmed in-state with more than 40 Connecticut actors is to be premiered Dec. 28 (Wednesday night) at Bridgeport's Bijou Theatre (275 Fairfield Ave.).

"Desolation Angels" is the theme song written, arranged and orchestrated by Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Drummer and founding member of the original Alice Cooper group, Neal Smith, for the movie "Desolation Angels/Rise of the BOAS.' Neal also stars in the lead role as the ruthless Russian mob boss, Yury Streinkov.
