Ember Women’s Theatre will present Second Servings by Nancy Shelton Williams. Second Servings was developed as a part of eMBer's New Play Program, where the company works alongside playwrights to develop new works with table work, feedback sessions, staged readings, and ultimately a staged production.

Ember Women's Theatre will present When We Were Young and Unafriad, by Sarah Treem. With a timely look back to the women's rights on the 70's, When We Were Young and Unafriad follows women in different places in their life, with different stakes surrounding the liberation movement.

Ember Women’s Theatre will present Women Playing Hamlet, by William Missouri Downs, featuring an all-female cast performing multiple roles. The production opens Friday, September 16th, and runs Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00pm until October 1st at the Van Fleet Theater.

Aphra Behn's 1687 comedy is a zany blend of commedia dell'arte, music, and science fiction. Servants and lovers run wild in this play which was hugely successful in the English Restoration Period. Behn's work has been described as "an affordable mini-spectacle," and she is considered one of the great women playwrights in all of classic theatre. Performances are July 20 thru August 6, 2017. MadLab will present The Young Writers Short Play Festival, a collection of ten short plays written by eleven Columbus area high school students. MadLab is a non-profit organization that provides an artistic haven for the creation and experience of original works. Part of that effort involves giving young people the opportunity to create original works. This festival was born from that goal. MadLab sought out submissions from area high schools and chose the best plays to produce. Student playwrights will work with experienced local playwrights to help them with their plays.
