CSArts-SGV presents First All-School Musical, PIPPIN at Arcadia Performing Arts Center


California School of the Arts San Gabriel Valley (CSArts-SGV) continues its inaugural year with a charismatic, all-school performance of the esteemed musical Pippin. Filled with dance, humor and soaring songs by Stephen Schwartz ( Corner of the Sky, Magic to Do and Glory ), Pippin tells the story of a young person's journey to find his place in the world. The ensemble cast offers growth and performance opportunities for the school's many talented young actors, dancers, musicians and singers across the school's conservatories. This original production is set with a unique and imaginative steampunk aesthetic, offering a relevant edge and visceral quality that will leave the audience questioning what it truly means to be extraordinary. Pippin runs Jan. 11-13, 2018, at the 1,163-seat Arcadia Performing Arts Center.

Teaching Theatrical Institute 2015


Teachers and Arts Educators converged at our annual Theatrical Teaching Institute (TTI) last week - a six-day professional development opportunity. Participants experienced, practiced, and then demonstrated Roundabout's Theatrical Teaching Framework as they created lesson plans they will take into their classrooms. Our mission: Use theatre to enhance teacher practice and deepen student learning. The outcome: Fully engaged teachers who are ready to transform their classrooms.

KIND SOULS Begins Next Month at Theatre 54


This winter, Alexander Greenfield - Associate Director of the acclaimed Broadway production of Outside Mullingar and The City of Conversation at Lincoln Center - directs Libra Theater Company's production of Tom Diggs' new play KIND SOULS, performing January 16 - February 1 at Theatre 54. The cast includes Lindsey Kyler (The Seagull at New York Classical Theatre) and John Clarence Stewart (Choir Boy at Manhattan Theatre Club / The Alliance Theatre). Opening is slated for January 18.
