Marcia Lewis BIO

Marcia Lewis was an American actress and singer known for her work on Broadway and in television. She was born on August 8, 1938, in Melrose, Massachusetts, and grew up in nearby Marblehead.
Lewis began her career in the 1960s, performing in regional theater productions before making her Broadway debut in the 1970 musical "Hello, Dolly!" She went on to appear in several other Broadway shows, including "The Selling of the President," "Roza," and "Chicago," in which she played the role of Matron "Mama" Morton.
In addition to her work on stage, Lewis also appeared in several television shows and movies. She had a recurring role on the sitcom "The Hogan Family" and appeared in films such as "The Great White Hype" and "Mystery Men."
Lewis was known for her powerful voice and comedic timing, which made her a favorite among audiences and critics alike.
