Broadway Workshop, the country's top training program for young performers, celebrated their tenth anniversary summer by welcoming Broadway's biggest stars to lead programs in New York City.
This August, Broadway Workshop presented their 3rd annual benefit concert for Project Broadway at NYC's famed supper club - Feinstein's/54 Below. The show entitled - MORE SHOWS WE'VE DONE, featured music from Broadway Workshop's past main stage and workshop productions.
The 2017 Children's Musical Theater Festival took place July 15-16 in New York City at The Baruch Performing Arts Center. The 7th Annual festival was presented by Broadway Workshop and Project Broadway. The 2017 festival productions included a new version of the Queen Musical - We Will Rock You, part of the catalog at Theatrical Rights Worldwide and a brand new musical Giants in the Sky part of Beat By Beat Press licensing. This month, THE ADDAMS FAMILY returned to New York for a sold out run at the Baruch Performing Arts Center. THE ADDAMS FAMILY Young@Part Edition is an all new one hour student version of the hit Broadway musical. On March 24, 2017, a group of Broadway professionals took to the stage at PS 125 in Harlem to be part of a panel called BROADWAY BOUND: Careers in the Theatre and Beyond. This special event panel was presented by Project Broadway in partnership with Harlem Grown. Over two hundred students between the ages of 7-12 from PS197, PS154, and PS125 came together to be part in an interactive panel where Broadway experts offered insight, education and advice on working on and off Broadway.
Every child dreams of coming to NYC to become a Broadway star. For a select few this dream might come true. However, if you're a young student in Harlem there's a good chance you've never even been in a Broadway theater; or have any performing arts classes offered to you in your school. You would have no idea that if you're not a talented 'triple threat' that there are many career opportunities in the theater. And that's where Project Broadway and Marc Tumminelli step in. Project Broadway in partnership with Harlem Grown will be hosting a panel discussion and Q&A for over 200 students from PS197, PS154, and PS125 ages 7-12 on Friday March 24th.
