MARTHA: A PICTURE STORY Acquired By Utopia 


Utopia has acquired the North American rights to feature documentary Martha: A Picture Story, a portrait of trailblazing graffiti and street photographer Martha Cooper, set for release on VOD platforms on March 16th and special edition Blu-Ray in May, 2021. 

New Documentary THE EMOJI STORY Releasing On VOD Platforms Tomorrow


Utopia has acquired the North American rights to The Emoji Story, the feature documentary that dives into the creation and ever evolving world of emoji, from its humble beginnings in Japan to the worldwide phenomenon and global digital language it is today. Utopia will release The Emoji Story on VOD on Tuesday, December 22nd, 2020.

Slamdance Announces Screenplay Competition Winners


Slamdance today announced the winners of its 2019 screenwriting competition, awarding its Grand Prize to writers Tamra Teig and Michael Lipoma for their feature screenplay “The Fall.” Additional prizes were awarded during a ceremony hosted by Writers Guild of America West across feature film, horror/thriller, TV pilot and short film categories. Slamdance awarded more​ than $16,000 to winners across all categories.

According to Variety, stage and screen star Anika Noni Rose will guest star in two episodes of Hulu's upcoming adaptation of Little Fires Everywhere. She will play Paula Hawthorne, a  'renowned photographer and art professor in New York who becomes a mentor to Mia when she is young.'

Andrew Bird Confirms New Orchestral Tour Dates This Fall


Andrew Bird is set for a run of orchestral tour dates in select U.S. cities this fall, performing alongside the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, the Kansas City Symphony and the National Symphony Orchestra. The final shows of the tour in Washington, DC mark Bird's Kennedy Center debut, where alongside the National Symphony Orchestra he will perform with musician, composer and orchestrator Gabriel Kahane, who has conceived innovative orchestrations of Bird's songs. GIFF Announces Dynamic 2018 Feature Film Competition Lineup for 12th International Film Festival


The Suncoast Credit Union Gasparilla International Film Festival (GIFF) is proud to announce the dynamic 2018 Feature Film Competition Lineup. The festival includes 35 U.S., international and documentary features, as well as other programming, to kick-off its 12th festival season. GIFF will begin on Tuesday, March 20th with the opening night musical/drama, Stuck, starring Giancarlo Esposito, Amy Madigan and Ashanti.
