In its first staging ever in the world since its original Broadway production and tour, Jerome Robbins' Broadway is an epic musical anthology that honors the career highlights of Tony Award-winning director and choreographer, Jerome Robbins. Filled with mesmerizing production numbers from some of Robbins' biggest hits, including West Side Story, On the Town, Peter Pan, The King and I and Fiddler on the Roof.

Metropolitan Ensemble Theatre kicks off the new year with DEFYING GRAVITY, a clever and uplifting fantasy written by Jane Anderson, with ear catching musings about art, religion and the outer limits of human possibility. MET's production is directed by Bob Stewart, featuring: Bailey Rose Steinke, Laura Jacobs, Robert Gibby Brand*, Lewis J. Morrow, Shawna Pe a-Downing, Nancy Nail, and Tim Ahlenius.

Unicorn Theatre's production of PRICILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT: THE MUSICAL comes just in time for Pride Month and reminds everyone of the joys of being your authentic self with a 'journey to the heart of fabulous!'

It's a comedy tonight, complete with togas, as the Stephen Sondheim musical A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum takes the stage of the White Theatre at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Kansas City (The J). The hilarious musical opens Saturday evening, Feb. 13 and continues for an additional seven performances. The production is directed and choreographed by Chris McCoy with musical direction by Kevin Bogan. Performance dates are Feb. 13, 18, 20, 25, 27 at 7:30 p.m.?February 14, 21, 28 at 2 p.m.

InPlay, Inc., presents its second production of the season,Missing You, Metropolis. The production is a part of the company's "By the Book" series of staged readings and was adapted from the poetry of Gary Jackson by: Tom Averill, Eric McHenry, Israel Wasserstein and Penny Weiner in collaboration with John Hunter and Lynn Wilson.

InPlay, Inc., a theatrical producing company started in 1999, has re-emerged with a new commitment to its mission to create and maintain a climate of diversity in Kansas City's theatre community.  InPlay now will not only produce its own productions, but will collaborate with other organizations to fulfill its mission.

Badder Auditions produced by Whim Productions is sidesplitting, roll on the floor good fun and is currently playing as part of the Kansas City Fringe Festival 2015. Showing at the City Stage located inside Union Station it is a sequel to Bad Auditions, which was a hit for the 2014 Kansas City Fringe Festival.

Sue Aside . . . a new dark comedy by Vicki Vodrey produced by Lot in Life Productions and the Phoenix KC Theatre currently plays at the Just Off Broadway Theatre for the Kansas City Fringe Festival. Warren Decker, Producing Director of Phoenix KC Theatre, directs the production, which runs through July 25.

The Fringe Festival returns to Kansas City from July 16 through July 26. The festival will be held at 20 venues in the metropolitan area, including the Arts Asylum, Unicorn Theatre, and Union Station among others. Over 116 performing groups, many returning from the 2014 Fringe Festival, will produce the over 480 shows during the two week span. The Grand Hall of Union Station and the Blue Galley in Aquarius/Vulcan's Forge will host the festivals visual artists.

The Taste Test by Kansas City playwright Frank Higgins is currently playing at the Just Off Broadway Theatre in Kansas City. The Taste Test is a Phoenix KC Theatre production in partnership with KC MeltingPot Theatre. Warren Deckert is director and designer for the play, which closes June 27.

Lasso of Truth, a National New Play Network Rolling World Premiere, opened on Saturday night January 31 at the Unicorn Theatre in Kansas City, Missouri. Johnny Wolfe directs this multimedia experience, which looks at the life of William Moulton Marston, the inventor of the lie detector and creator of the comic book hero Wonder Woman. The use of video and comic book style slides add additional humor to an already amusing and sensual production. Lasso of Truth is a co-production with the University of Missouri at Kansas City Theatre.

The Unicorn Theatre presents a Rolling World Premiere of Lasso of Truth at the theater located in Kansas City, Missouri. Johnny Wolfe directs the Lasso of Truth, written by Carson Kreitzer and co-produced with the University of Missouri at Kansas City Theatre. The show runs January 28 through February 15, with opening night on January 31.
