Applications are now open for Rhinebeck Writers Retreat's weeklong summer residencies for musical theatre writers. Nine teams will be selected for a private retreat in the Hudson Valley to focus solely on writing their musical.

Rhinebeck Writers Retreat will host 16 award-winning musical theatre writers of eight new musicals for eight consecutive weeklong residencies between July 3 and August 28.

Rhinebeck Writers Retreat is presenting a reading of MISSING PEACE, a contemporary Native musical by Kalani Queypo and Kyle Puccia. The reading is directed by Devanand Janki (Little Girl Blue-The Nina Simone Musical) and music-directed by Yan Li.

Rhinebeck Writers Retreat has been approved for a $10,000 Grants for Arts Projects award to support musical theatre writer summer residencies and Triple R - 2 readings and a residency. This is Rhinebeck Writers Retreat's fifth award from the NEA in its ten-year history.

Apples and Oranges Arts in collaboration with the National Alliance for Musical Theatre and Broadway Tech Accelerator present a live, virtual Shark-Tank-style pitch session in which four writing teams from NAMT's Festival of New Musicals present their shows to theatre executives and investors from around the country.
