Jan Rosenberg BIO

Jan Rosenberg (They/Them) is the author of GUSHER! (NPC Finalist), How To Destroy An American Girl Doll (NPC Semifinalist), What's Wrong With You (NPC Semifinalist), Janie Wants A Dog, and many other coming-of-age stories with a dark twist. They have been a finalist for the Princess Grace Award, the Theatre503 World Playwriting Award, and the Lanford New American Play Festival. They have collaborated with the LAByrinth Theater Company, Seattle Rep, IAMA Theatre, Cherry Lane, The Lark, The Bechdel Project, The Last Frontier Conference, Possibilities Theatre Company, Vertigo Theater, Wide Eyed Productions, and countless others. They were the playwright in residence at Stella Adler Studio and The Farm Theater. They are a member of the Playwright/Directors Unit at The Actors Studio. Their radio play, We Came All This Way (of The Lovely Dark series), can be heard anywhere podcasts are available. Their short film, Meal Support, featuring Tony- and Emmy-nominee Kate Burton, is forthcoming.

Now in its ninth season of supporting emerging writers The Farm Theater has awarded their 2021/22 College Collaboration Project Commission to playwright Jake Brasch (Greenland at Dixon Place; Salutations, I'm Creative Dave at Alchemical Theatre Laboratory). Jake will collaborate with Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN and Pellissippi State College in Knoxville, TN. Austin Peay is participating in The Farm Theater's College Collaboration Project for the first time. This will be Pellissippi State's second year, following their partnership in 2018-19.

Now in its seventh season of supporting emerging female writers The Farm Theater has awarded their 2020/21 College Collaboration Project Commission to playwright Lia Romeo (The Forest, featured on The Kilroys' List; NYIT Award nominee for Connected at 59E59). Ms. Romeo will collaborate with Centre College in Danville, KY (fall 2020) and Wells College in Aurora, NY (spring 2020). This will be Centre College's fourth time participating in The Farm Theater's College Collaboration Project.
