James Patrick Nelson BIO

James Patrick Nelson is currently in rehearsal for the Off-Broadway premiere of "Memorial" with Pan Asian Repertory. He recently appeared in the Off-Broadway premiere of "Reverse Transcription" with PTP/NYC at Atlantic Stage II, and the Los Angeles transfer of Broadway's "Slave Play" at the Mark Taper Forum. He starred in the Boston-transfer of Bedlam's Off-Broadway production of "Pygmalion," and the world-premiere of Terrence McNally's final play "Immortal Longings". He won a Helen Hayes Award for Bedlam's "Sense and Sensibility" at the Folger Theatre, reprised at the American Repertory Theatre. James began his Off-Broadway career at Classic Stage Company, in productions of "The Three Sisters" with Maggie Gyllenhaal, "A Midsummer Night's Dream" with Bebe Neuwirth, and "Ivanov" with Ethan Hawke. Additional credits at the Mint Theatre, Flea Theatre, Berkley Rep, Olney Theatre, New Light Theatre Project, Outliers Theatre, and American Shakespeare Center. He created the short film "Waking Up," which premiered at the Oscar-qualifying Santa Barbara Int'l Film Festival, and he wrote, produced, and stars in the upcoming TV pilot "For Years to Come" with Richard Riehle.
