When we think of Kevin Elyot, one of the first things that comes to mind is his magnificent 1994 comedy My Night with Reg, a touching play about gay lives revived at the Donmar Warehouse in 2015. Elyot's first play, Coming Clean, is about to be staged at The King's Head in a week's time, and now his final play, Twilight Song, receives its long-awaited premiere at Park Theatre.

BWW Review: THE ROUNDABOUT, Park Theatre, 25 August 2016

Gary Naylor sees a revival that invites comparisons between the Britain of the 1930s and 2010s, but runs out of narrative energy and character credibility

Guest Blog: Hugh Ross On Finding JB Priestley's THE ROUNDABOUT

My father, Gordon Ross, was a polymath: a doctor who, unconventionally in the 1930s, after he had qualified, also practised homeopathy. In his free time, he loved to paint, read, and write rather good poetry and some very bad plays. He had a vast collection of books that I inherited, including a collection, Four in Hand, by JB Priestley, whom he much admired, published in 1954.

BWW Review: NOBODY'S BUSINESS, King's Head Theatre, Oct 2 2015

They say death is easy, comedy is hard. It should almost be noted that if comedy is hard, farce is even harder. It needs to look like chaos and work like clockwork.
