MadLab's Young Writers Short Play Festival, featuring a collection of ten short plays written by 14 area high school students, will take place July 14 - 29, 2017 at MadLab, 227 N. 3rd St., in Columbus.

OGP gathers together several of Columbus's top improv troupes, blocks of short plays, classic TV show readings, great local podcasts, musicians, and a variety of unique performance pieces to create their own fringe festival for the third year in a row.  

MadLab's Young Writers Short Play Festival, featuring a collection of ten short plays written by 14 area high school students, will take place July 14 - 29, 2017 at MadLab, 227 N. 3rd St., in Columbus.

In its eighteenth year, Central Ohio's longest running shorts festival presents 3 very distinct nights of new works rotating over 3 weekends culminating in the final day when all 3 nights of programming are performed.

From Katrina Rouge and OGP comes a web series about taking over the world, starting at the ground level. Chad Hewitt stars as Stan Francisco, an entry level worker at e-Ville, trying to navigate his way through office politics, relationships, and shark propeller requisitions. Francisco is just trying to make his way in the world, but others have bigger plans for him.

MadLab will present 3 in 30: Bed, the latest in the long running 3in30 series, featuring 3 plays, I Love Lucifer, by John Quigley, Minus 1, by Steve Trautmann and The Circle Around the Bed, by Kate Carey.

MadLab is a non-profit organization that provides an artistic haven for the creation and experience of original works. Part of that effort involves giving young people the opportunity to create original works. This festival was born from that goal. MadLab sought out submissions from area high schools and chose the best plays to produce. Student playwrights will work with experienced local playwrights to help them with their plays.

In April of this year, MadLab Theatre lost one of its original and most original leaders when Chris Lane passed away. Now they honor Chris, the Actor, Director, Improviser Rock star, Teacher, and Friend, the only way they know how. And that's by putting on a show, 'Today's the Day: A Tribute to Chris Lane'.

The 3rd Annual St. James Tavern Shorts Festival, presented by O.G. Productions at the St. James Tavern, 1057 N. 4th St., Columbus, OH, will be presented for one night only tonight, July 3, 2013 at 7 p.m. Admission is free. Featuring four short plays based around the theme of Boom and all set at the St. James Tavern: A Tale Oft Told by Christopher Lockheardt,Boom by Doug Powhida, This is Boombastia by Chris Morris, and We Read Together by Scott Tobin.
