Surflight Theatre is continuing their 2023 Season with the musical theatre staple, State Fair. Filled with dance and gorgeous music, State Fair travels with the Frake family as they leave behind the routine of the farm for three days of adventure at the annual Iowa State Fair.

Surflight Theatre has announced that they will be continuing their 2023 Season with the hilarious musical comedy, Something Rotten!

 Surflight Theatre is opening their 2023 Season with a show celebrating the magnificent history of Atlantic City’s Steel Pier in the 1930’s:  Kander and Ebb’s STEEL PIER the Musical.

Professional ballet dancer and Broadway actress Deanna Doyle (former Meg Giry in Phantom of the Opera and Astaire Award nominee for Tuck Everlasting) stars in a newly released short dance film in which she dances the role of the Dew Drop Fairy in 'Waltz of the Flowers' from Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker Suite. The program offers a mix of solos, duets, and ensemble pieces choreographed by Kawazu, Zach Bordonaro, Deanna Doyle, KT Thomas, and Felipe Beltran, and enhanced by digital projections of artwork by Andrea Shapiro.

'Still Standing' is a video  celebrating the amazing professional artists, on and off stage, who are anxiously awaiting the day when  the lights of Broadway will once again be lit and audiences around the world can come back to the theatre.

New online platforms have launched just since the beginning of the health crisis, to help those looking to hone their craft continue to do so from home. Many classes are even taught by Broadway professionals. Other institutions have simply shifted their in-person classes to a virtual format, taught over Zoom or an equivalent platform.

The show's resplendent color palette, anchored by a stage floor covered in dappled brush strokes, pays homage to the French impressionist school of painting, notably that of Claude Monet. 

To celebrate the 5th anniversary of Aladdin on Broadway, five current and former Genies stopped the show following yesterday's matinee to perform a medley of Aladdin hits. The five Genies included Tony Award winner James Monroe Iglehart, current star Michael James Scott, tour Genie Major Attaway, and current Broadway Genie standbys Juwan Crawley and Deonte L. Warren.
