In Lifeline Theatre's MIDDLE PASSAGE, the intimate Rogers Park venue transforms into the scene of a 19th century maritime epic. Artistic Director Ilesa Duncan and David Barr III adapt Charles Johnson's award-winning 1990 novel for the stage, and Duncan directs. The sprawling tale follows a recently freed slave as he journeys from the gambling dens of New Orleans to the heart of the African slave trade and back again.

Audiences can celebrate Valentine's Day, honor Black History Month, and more during Chicago Theatre Week (#CTW20).  With over 120 participating productions, there is something for everyone during Chicago Theatre Week, running February 13-23, 2020. The Cabaret and Buckingham Companies announced plans today that will give The Cabaret a prominent, permanent downtown location in the Metzger Building at 9th and Pennsylvania Street in the heart of the evolving Library Square. The new space, which also houses the Arts Council of Indianapolis and Gallery 924, and once served as the Rollerland skating rink from the 1940s to the late 1970s, provides the perfect venue for The Cabaret.

???????A magical adventure is in store for audiences at Peninsula Players Theatre when its production of "Peter and the Starcatcher" by Rick Elice ("Jersey Boys," "Addams Family") opens July 5.  Based on the novel by humorist David Barry and suspense novelist Ridley Pearson, "Peter and the Starcatcher" is a grown-up's prequel to Peter Pan featuring swashbuckling pirates, mischievous mermaids, spirited seafarers, a trunk full of magic starstuff and the adventures of a nameless orphan boy and his new friend Molly.  This Tony Award-winning play will light up the theatre-in-a-garden with its stardust and transport audiences to a Neverland they never knew through July 23.

Peninsula Players Theatre, America's Oldest Professional Resident Summer Theatre and Door County's theatrical icon, announces artistic company members for its 82nd season, running June 13 through October 15, 2017. 

Headlining the Spencer Theater Summer Season 2017 is the classic country praise music of The Blackwood Quartet and the legendary Larry Gatlin of The Gatlin Brothers on Saturday, May 27 at 8 p.m. (Concert tickets are $39-$69). This promises to be a night of pure western-styled gospel beauty with the Blackwood's favorite Christian melodies like How Great Thou Art, Put Your Hand In The Hand, The Light House, Amazing Grace, Peace In The Valley, and many other gospel classics. Western great Larry Gatlin (pictured above), the eldest of the three Gatlin Brothers and writer of all their greatest hits including All The Gold In California and Houston, holds some of the most prestigious awards in the industry. His showcase of gospel and Gatlin favorites will open the second set of music that night, following The Blackwood Quartet (pictured left). The duo of headliners will then come together in our stage lights for an extended encore of songs.  This special evening is being sponsored in-part by Lynn & Bruce Morgan and Sandra & David Barrett.
