Christina Stroup BIO

Christina Stroup was born and rasied in the Cayman Islands.
Living there for 13 years of her life, Christina embraced the island life. She began taking dance at the age of 3. She was a student of Miss Jackie's School of Dance, taking classes in jazz, ballet, tap, hip-hop, and lyrical dance. Not only was she a dancer but Christina began singing in her church at a very young age. The pastor's wife would place her on top of the piano and she would lead the congregation in song.
She continued singing and dancing in church as well as in dance school. Eventually her mother, Rita Stroup, realized she had a true gift of the performing arts and decided they needed to move to the United States for Christina to have more exposure.
When she was 13, they moved to Houston, TX leaving everything they had behind to start a new life. Christina immediately joined choir and theater while in high school and excelled in both. She won numerous awards including Best Supporting Actress at the Tommy Tune Awards as well as NATS singing awards in musical theater and classical voice. She realized in high school this was what she wanted to do.
Christina went on to study musical theater at Sam Houston State University where she received her BFA in 2010. During her studies she not only starred in productions at school but also in productions professionally in Houston. Christina has been performing as a professional actress in Houston since the age of 18. She is now a proud member of Actor's Equity Association and can be seen in numerous productions in downtown Houston. Christina recently started pursuing film in September 2013. She has since been cast in 15 projects, including 7 commercials, which have been filmed all over Texas. She signed with Pastorini Bosby Talent Agency in Houston, TX and Acclaim Talent Agency in Austin, TX. She continues to pound the pavement and strives to have a full career on stage and the silver screen.
