Camille Saviola BIO

Saviola was a Broadway actor who appeared in Chicago as Matron Mama Morton from June-December 2003. She made her Broadway debut in Nine in 1982, playing the role of Mama Maddelena, and understudying the role of Saraghina.

Graduating from the High School of Music and Art, Saviola became lead singer of the Margo Lewis Explosion rock band in the 1970s and was signed to a disco contract in the late 1970s.

In addition to her stage work, Saviola appeared in many films and television series from 1984-2015, including The Purple Rose of Cairo, Remington Steele, Last Exit to Brooklyn, Betsy's Wedding, The Heights, Friends, Addams Family Values, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Sunset Park, Saving Grace, and many more.

INNER CITY Reunion Concert Announced for Feinstein's/54 Below


FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW will be hosting a Reunion Concert of the 1971 Broadway musical, INNER CITY. The original Broadway production, directed by Tom O'Horgan, featured music by Helen Miller and lyrics by Eve Merriam.  The show was based on Merriam's book "The Inner City Mother Goose," a collection of updated nursery rhymes reflecting life of the disenfranchised inhabitants of America's urban inner cities circa 1970. The production ran at Broadway's Barrymore Theater from December 1971 to March 1972. Featured cast member, Linda Hopkins, was awarded a 1972 Tony Award for her performance.

The finale of Season 15 of the popular and acclaimed series Broadway by the Year will be June 22 at 8 P.M. at Town Hall and feature tunes from every year during the last quarter century of Broadway [from 1991]. Broadway by the Year creator/writer/host, Scott Siegel, says, 'This particular edition of Broadway by the Year will feature a great many stars who originated the songs they will be singing from the shows in which they starred, including Tony winner Randy Graff (A Class Act); Tony Nominee Cheryl Freeman (The Civil War), Tony Nominee Sahr Ngaujah (Fela!), Lisa Howard (It Shoulda Been You), and Special Guest Star, Tony Danza (Honeymoon in Vegas).' Siegel further explained that the concert will also feature award-winning stars who performed in the shows they will be singing from, including Grammy-winning country legend Larry Gatlin (Broadway, The Will Rogers Follies), Kyle Scatliffe (Olivier Nominee for The Scottsboro Boys), Quentin Earl Darrington (Ragtime).
