The Resident Acting Company, formed three years ago by members of the Pearl Theater Company, has just announced casting for their return to live theatre.  They will present a live, in person staged reading of Antigone by Sophocles and Translated by Robert Fagles on October 25th at 7PM at St. Ignatius of Antioch on the Upper West Side. 

The Resident Acting Company, formed three years ago by members of the Pearl Theater Company, has been producing Play Dates With The RAC throughout the pandemic.  The RAC has chosen two plays for this fall that will be first held on Zoom and then performed live.  They picked two plays that they think will resonate in a church setting and reflect a host of our current societal issues, and will also be entertaining.  

The Resident Acting Company has just announced five dates in 2021 for it's extremely popular online series – Play Dates With The RAC.  Audience members read a play, and then join the company online for a 90 minute Zoom session. Hosted by Kate Farrington, Artistic Associate, these evenings explore the background of the play and playwright, audience members enjoy live performances by members of the Resident Acting Company as well as guest artists, and they always end with a Q&A session when the audience can join the conversation.  Tickets are already selling fast.

The Resident Acting Company has just released a film version of  “Play” by Samuel Beckett.  It is available to watch free of charge on their website for three months through a special agreement with the Estate of Samuel Beckett.  racnyc.org

Gingold Theatrical Group continues the 14th Season of Project Shaw, Art as Activism: A Theatrical Survival Guide, a special series of evenings of plays that embrace human rights and free speech.

In 2015, the news that the Oregon Shakespeare Festival had commissioned modern English translations of all of Shakespeare's plays drew alarm from purists. Over the past month, the PlayOn! Festival has been presenting all 39 translations. The month-long festival concludes on June 30th and on July 1st The Resident Acting Company will present a new play based on the powerful debate behind these translations-Polishing Shakespeare by HBO Def Poet and critically acclaimed playwright, Brian Dykstra and starring Bradford Cover, Robin Leslie Brown and Kate Rigg. The play will be directed by Margarett Perry.
