Langhorne Players Wrap 72nd Season With The Classic THE 39 STEPS


Langhorne Players at the Spring Garden Mill coclude n their 72nd season with one of the most successful comedies of the past twenty years, The 39 Steps. At once a parody of and an homage to John Buchan's novel and Alfred Hitchcock's film, The 39 Steps won the 2007 Olivier Award for Best New Comedy and was nominated for the 2008 Tony Award for Best Play. The London production ran over nine years, making it the fifth longest running play in West End history. It tells the story of Richard Hannay, an everyday London man who becomes caught up in a shadowy spy ring after meeting an alluring young woman. He soon finds himself on the run, bound for Scotland in search of the mystery behind the secretive 39 Steps.

ActorsNET continues its 21st season with Nell Benjamin's hilarious comedy, THE EXPLORERS CLUB.  When a female explorer attempts to join an all-male bastion for explorers, she brings in tow a primitive blue-painted man from a previously lost tribe.  She presents the native to Queen Victoria and he scandalizes British society.

Dates and show times for this popular Shakespearean comedy are: Todays, June 13 and June 20 at 8 p.m.; Saturdays, June 14 and June 21 at 8 p.m.; and Sundays, June 15 and 22 at 2 p.m. A reception with the cast and crew will follow the opening night performance on June 13. Kelsey Theatre is located on the college's West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road
