I'm bound to watch some movie musicals this summer, and since there’s enough to make a list, I thought I’d share some musical films I’ll be watching this summer that I recommend.

Although I've had the pleasure of seeing 'Jersey Boys' performed on Broadway and on tour, I never before watched the 2014 film by the same name, directed by Clint Eastwood and distributed by Warner Brothers Pictures.

With 2019 coming to a close, the new decade is set to bring us a slew of film adaptations of our favorite stage musicals! From West Side Story to In the Heights to The Prom, we are gearing up for some big films, but before we move into 2020, let's have a look back on the last ten years of musicals turned into films!

Today, Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) announced the initial line-up for the 2019 SCAD aTVfest, Atlanta's only festival dedicated to television. Now in its seventh year, the university's annual signature event celebrating the television industry will be held at SCADshow on February 7 - 9, 2019. Animus continues its fourth full theatrical season with the New York Revival of Someone Who'll Watch Over Me by Frank McGuinness.

New epic thriller THE PASSAGE will premiere Monday, Jan. 14 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. Based on author Justin Cronin's best-selling trilogy of the same name, THE PASSAGE is an expansive, character-driven action drama series written by Liz Heldens (“Friday Night Lights”).

Based on author Justin Cronin's best-selling trilogy of the same name, THE PASSAGE is an epic, character-driven thriller written by Liz Heldens (“Friday Night Lights”). Executive-produced by Emmy Award winner and Academy Award and Golden Globe nominee Ridley Scott (“The Martian,” “Gladiator”) and writer/director Matt Reeves (“Dawn of the Planet of the Apes,” “Cloverfield”), THE PASSAGE focuses on Project Noah, a secret medical facility where scientists are experimenting with a dangerous virus that could lead to the cure for all disease, but also carries the potential to wipe out the human race. When a young girl, AMY BELLAFONTE (Saniyya Sidney, “Fences,” “Hidden Figures”) is chosen to be a test subject, Federal Agent BRAD WOLGAST (Mark-Paul Gosselaar, “Pitch”) is the man who is tasked with bringing her to Project Noah. Ultimately, however, Wolgast becomes her surrogate father, as he tries to protect her at any cost. Brad and Amy's journey will force them to confront Project Noah's lead scientist, MAJOR NICHOLE SYKES (Caroline Chikezie, “The Shannara Chronicles”), and the hardened ex-CIA operative in charge of operations, CLARK RICHARDS (Vincent Piazza, “Boardwalk Empire,” “Rescue Me”), whom Brad trained. It likewise brings them face-to-face with a dangerous new race of beings confined within the walls of Project Noah, including former scientist TIM FANNING (Jamie McShane, “Bosch,” “Bloodline,” “Sons of Anarchy”) and death-row inmate SHAUNA BABCOCK (Brianne Howey, “The Exorcist”). In seeking out any allies he can find, Brad also turns to his former wife, DR. LILA KYLE (Emmanuelle Chriqui, “Entourage,” “Murder in the First”), for help. But as Project Noah's scientists hone in on a cure that could save humanity, these new beings begin to test their own powers, inching one step closer to an escape that could lead to an unimaginable apocalypse.

Despite how a shallow mind may perceive the value of a mentally handicapped timid man or a destitute, drug-taking drifter, through Director Tom Sierchio's eyes, there's so much more to them than the biased judgments of ordinary people. 'Don't let anyone tell you that's a bad thing, cause it's not,' insists the drifter, a nameless, bonny girl (Suki Waterhouse) in between drags of a marijuana cigarette to her intellectually disabled new friend Victor (Dash Mihok) of their shared weirdness in Sierchio's poignant directorial debut, The Girl Who Invented Kissing. 'It's a good thing. Only the mediocre are always at their best and I can tell already, that ain't us.'

Electric Entertainment has acquired all media rights for the U.S. and Canada for the self-aware horror comedy FEAR, INC., it was announced today by Dean Devlin, President and CEO of the company.
