Vicente Guzman-Orozco BIO

Born in Colima, Mexico, Vicente first encountered the performing arts as a child, exploring various dance styles (including Mexican Folk, modern and African) before taking an acting class when his schedule prevented him from movement lessons. Theater then became his main performance focus, and he wrote his first short scripts in high school. It was also then that he was cast by Miracle Theatre Group in a touring show, for teens and by teens, addressing racism.
He was also cast in his first professional role, the 1992 MTG production "Cuentos!" by Martin Milagro. He has continued to be associated with MTG over more than two decades, principally as an actor, but also directing the teen troupe and at times holding staff positions as Administrative, Development and (presently) Marketing Assistant. He also held a play writing residence for the bilingual touring arm of the company (Teatro Milagro), during which eight of his scripts were staged with MTG Co-Founder Danel Malan producing. Almost exclusively confined to stages in Portland, Oregon, Vicente's acting trajectory also includes other companies such as Artists Repertory Theatre, call in sick, DoJump!, Stark Raving Theatre and Theatre Imagine.
Most recently, his play "Machos" received a staged reading during MTG's "La Luna Nueva" festival.
