Previously only seen in London for one week at the Donmar Warehousein 1987, Mary Queen of Scots Got Her Head Chopped Off will get its first full London season, 25 years after its Scottish premiere, directed by Olivier Award Winning La Boheme director Robin Norton-Hale at the King's Head Theatre, Islington, now through Saturday 22 June. Exploring the rivalry and mutual fascination between Mary Queen of Scots and Elizabeth I, Liz Lochhead's Mary Queen of Scots Got Her Head Chopped Off re-tells this murky tale of political and sexual intrigue with ferocious wit and innovation and examines Mary's legacy through the eyes of Corbie, a carrion crow who is her unseen attendant through life and death.

Six Edward Bond Plays At The Cock Tavern


The Cock Tavern Theatre is presenting a landmark season of six Edward Bond plays from six decades from Tuesday 14 September to Saturday 13 November 2010. During the nine week season it is presenting the UK premiere of Olly's Prison (1993), a revival of The Pope's Wedding (1962), the London première of The Under Room (2005), The Fool (1976), the first revival of Red, Black and Ignorant (1985) and will culminate with a new, yet untitled première that Edward Bond has been commissioned to write for the Cock Tavern Theatre.
