The St. Jacobs Country Playhouse continues its season of excellent summer theatre fare with Weekend Comedy. Offering comical perspectives on connubial bliss and strife, this witty production from one of TV's great sitcom writers tells the hilarious story of what happens when two very different couples book the same cabin for the same weekend - each with their own baggage. Weekend Comedy is on stage now until August 24th.

Seven-time Emmy nominee and "America's Dad" (Growing Pain's) Alan Thicke is starring as iconic TV personality Jack Bailey in the world premiere of Queen for a Day: the Musical. The 12-performance show is currently running through October 7th at the brand new state-of-the-Art Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts. Thicke is scheduled to perform in 10 shows only. Stage West Dinner theatre offers a downsized version of the Tony winning Broadway hit. Where it works it is due to the strength of the material and the commitment of the performers. The result is still funny and entertaining, but will leave some wondering what all the hullabaloo was about when the show played on Broadway. * * * 1/2 (OUT OF 5)
