For those lucky enough to be living under restrictions where you can still visit your local cinema, you can still catch one of the most festive theatrical events of the season; the Bolshoi Ballet’s The Nutcracker, which is screening in selected cinemas on December 20. Of all the many versions of this ballet, the Bolshoi’s is undoubtably one of the most traditional.

The legendary Bolshoi Ballet’s production of holiday favorite, The Nutcracker, returns to cinemas nationally this December.

After a beautifully lyrical version of Romeo and Juliet, Russia’s Bolshoi Ballet returns to our cinema screens on November 1 with a highly emotional version of John Neumeier’s Lady of the Camellias. Created in 1979 for the Stuttgart Ballet, the Bolshoi has been performing this intensely poignant piece since 2014.

The Bolshoi Ballet opens its doors to audiences in cinemas worldwide for the 11th consecutive season.

Continuing to celebrate its 10th anniversary in cinemas, the Bolshoi Ballet 19/20 cinema season is back in cinemas nationwide this Sunday with the breathtaking Le Corsaire.

Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) has today announced the cast rotation of dancers from the world acclaimed Bolshoi Ballet to star in the 2019 QPAC International Series, only in Queensland from 26 June.

The Bolshoi Ballet's production of Don Quixote comes to the big screen in HD at The Ridgefield Playhouse Sunday, January 6 at 2pm in an encore presentation recorded in Moscow. Inspired by heroic stories of brave knights, with his faithful servant Sancho Panza at his side, Don Quixote sets out on an adventure to meet his ideal woman, Dulcinea. With panache and sparkling technique, principal dancers Ekaterina Krysanova and Semyon Chudin lead the spectacular cast of toreadors, flamenco dancers, gypsies, and dryads in the Bolshoi's critically-acclaimed staging of this exalted performance. A quintessential Bolshoi event, this screening is part of the Atria Senior Living Classical Series with support from Whistle Stop Bakery. The series is underwritten by Jeanne Cook, Liz & Steven Goldstone, and Sabina & Walter Slavin.

The celebrated Bolshoi Ballet dances across big screens nationwide with an outstanding lineup for the fifth consecutive season, as part of the “2018-19 Bolshoi Ballet in Cinema Series.” Captured live from Moscow's legendary Bolshoi Theatre, audiences will be captivated by seven stunning performances on select Sundays from November 2018 to May 2019, all in their local cinemas.

There's a wonderful line up of dance and drama at The Fugard Bioscope in October. The season programme starts on Sunday 14th October with The Bolshoi Ballet's captivating production of COPPELIA. The Bolshoi's production of DON QUIXOTE will also be screened on 28 October, while on 21 October, theatre lovers can catch Academy Award nominee Benedict Cumberbatch in the National Theatre Live's HAMLET.

The 2018/19 Bolshoi Ballet in cinema season showcases some of ballet's greatest classical works performed by the world's finest dancers creating a unique cinematic experience. Four classical ballets (La Sylphide, Don Quixote, La Bayadere and The Sleeping Beauty) will be shown on the big screen alongside the beloved Christmas tale The Nutcracker. The evocative 1920's jazz ballet The Golden Age and Edward Clug's latest choreographic work Petrushka alongside Carmen Suite completes the season.

The Bolshoi Ballet LE CORSAIRE will be at the National Centre for the Performing Arts on May 18 through May 20. This production is choreographed by Marius Petipa and will be presented in three acts.

On April 17, 2015, David Hallberg Presents: Legacy, was presented as the final performance of the Youth America Grand Prix. Hallberg himself served as moderator, introducing the evening's participating dancers and the companies: Bolshoi Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Mariinsky Ballet, Tokyo Ballet in their U.S. debut, ABT Studio Company, and the Australian Ballet. Although public speaking does not seem to come as easily to Hallberg as dancing, he entertained us with anecdotes from his experience dancing with American Ballet Theatre and abroad.
