The Town Hall just presented Broadway By The Year: Broadway Musicals of 1943 and 1951 last night, March 25th at 8pm. Created, written, hosted and directed by Scott Siegel for The Town Hall, the evening continues Broadway By The Year's 19th season at The Town Hall (123 W. 43rd Street).

The 17th Annual Broadway Unplugged was held at the Merkin Concert Hall last night, October 13.

Last night, June 18, stars came out to relive some of the best Broadway showtunes of 1988 and 2017 at Broadway By The Year.

This week the third concert in this landmark 18th season of Town Hall's signature series, Broadway by the Year drew out some of Broadway's finest performers including Tony-nominee Carolee Carmello, Drama Desk nominee Cheryl Freeman, Luke Grooms (Jerry Springer: The Opera), Douglas Ladnier (Jekyll & Hyde), Maxine Linehan (South Pacific), Kyle Selig(Mean Girls), Oakley Boycott (Bells Are Ringing), Joshua Israel (Annie). Betsy Wolfe (Falsettos, Waitress), Eddie Korbich (A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder, The Drowsy Chaperone), Sal Viviano (The Full Monty, The Life), Olivier Award winner Lesli Margherita who has won fans across the length and breadth of Broadway with her starring roles in Matilda & Dames at Sea, Tony Yazbeck (Tony Award nominee for On the Town), Jenny Lee Stern (Rocky: The Musical & Spamilton), and Mia Gerachis (Jekyll & Hyde) performed at Broadway by the Year at Town Hall on March 26th at 8pm.

After 15 years at The Town Hall, Scott Siegel's critically acclaimed BROADWAY UNPLUGGED concert event moved to a new address for its 16th season: Merkin Concert Hall. Other than the venue, however, Broadway Unplugged remains unchanged: it offers Broadway's greatest voices singing famous Broadway show tunes the way they used to be done before Broadway shows were miked: UNPLUGGED.

After his succesful New York debut on July 2017 at 54 Below, Spanish performer Joan Vazquez will come back to New York City with 'Something's Coming - a Sondheim tribute' at the renowned Metropolitan Room in Manhattan on Wednesday, September 6th at 9.30pm.

Fresh off the triumphant run of Sunset Boulevard, NANCY ANDERSON will play the role of world-famous spiritual teacher Mama Sid in New York Musical Festival and 4M Productions' East Coast premiere of THE FOURTH MESSENGER, a contemporary Western re-imagining of the Buddha legend featuring a flawed, female Buddha figure, as part of the New York Musical Festival.

Let Nancy Anderson take you back to a time when speakeasies were born and jazz was king. With Ross Patterson and his little big band, Nancy, fresh off Broadway's Sunset Boulevard (where she understudied Glenn Close), revisits her critically acclaimed debut album Ten Cents a Dance in a nightclub -- Feinstein's/54 Below -- uniquely appropriate to her quintessential jazz-age take on enduring classics by Cole Porter, Rodgers and Hart, Irving Berlin, and the Artie Shaw Orchestra.

BROADWAY BY THE YEAR, the musical revue series created, written, directed, and hosted by Scott Siegel and which pays tribute to a different era of Broadway composers each program, is a stroke of brilliance. Occurring once a month, each evening is dedicated specifically to one decade of American musical theater, and features some of the most talented stars currently working in American musical theater. The series' most recent installment (and the first of 2017) on February 27 at its usual home, The Town Hall, paid tribute to the 1920s. The decade, which inducted into the theatrical cannon the likes of George and Ira Gershwin and Richard Rodgers, brims with melodically-rich scores including songs of yearning and joviality. The tunes selected for the evening certainly felt of their era; however, put into the hands of such skilled performers as Carolee Carmello, Beth Malone, and Robert Cuccioli (to name a few), they could be heard with fresh and non-cynical ears.

While high belters rule Broadway today, during Broadway's Golden Age the baritone was king - which means that the great male numbers written by the likes of Irving Berlin, Rodgers & Hart, Rodgers & Hammerstein, The Gershwins, Sigmund Romberg, Cole Porter, and others of their iconic ilk, were largely written for baritones. But William Michals is the one Broadway star of today who is the singular baritone born for that great music.
