What do you get when you cross a stage director, a burgeoning film industry, exotic plants, and time-travelling characters? Why, you get Shakespeare in Hollywood! This play is a riotous time for Shakespeare nerds and People-Who’ve-Never-Read-Shakespeare alike.

It would be nice if all theatres were coming back with a roar, but the pandemic is still hurting theatre companies and audiences. But horses have to run, writers have to write, and performers have to perform. To make the best of the current situation, the Westport Community Theatre is presenting a one-night cabaret on Thursday, October 21 at 7:30 and will feature various local talent.

On December 7, TheatreWorks New Milford will open the classic musicalMan of La Mancha, by Dale Wasserman, Joe Darion and Mitch Leigh. Man of La Mancha is based on Miguel de Cervantes' tale, Don Quixote.

The animals on a farm drive out their master and take over and run the farm for themselves.

On Friday, May 5 TheatreWorks New Milford will open their second show of the season, George Orwell's classic satire Animal Farm, adapted by Ian Wooldridge.   The curtain goes up at 8:00 p.m. on a four weekend run with an Opening Night Gala after the show on May 5.

Westport Community Theatre announces its first production of the 2016-2017 season, Camping with Henry and Tom, written by Mark St. Germain. The show, which has performances on weekends through Sunday, Oct. 2, is directed by Ruth Anne Baumgartner and produced by Joan Lasprogato.

The mystery thriller MURDER AMONG FRIENDS by Bob Barry makes its debut at Town Players' Little Theatre on Friday, April 15.
