Open Stage, a theatre company in downtown Harrisburg, has announced its 38th season of productions with the theme 'Out of the Darkness.' Featuring a lineup of shows that explore the triumph of the human spirit over adversity, the season includes classic plays, new works, musicals, holiday shows and special events. Tickets will go on sale later this summer.

The final day of the Harrisburg Fringe Festival was just as exciting as the previous days. In spite of the rain, there were full houses for many of the performances, and audiences and artists alike were enthusiastic and ready for another day to “do something weird.”

The stage adaptation by Stuart Landon and Rachel Landon brings to life Charles Dickens' classic novel of redemption and holiday magic.

Jingle bells are ringing at Open Stage, a theatre company in downtown Harrisburg. Open Stage will present Who's Holiday! in its Studio Theater from Nov. 26 – Dec. 22. The irreverent parody is a twist on the classic The Grinch. Open Stage will also present Paige Turner: Drag Me to Christmas!, a live holiday show with New York City drag superstar Paige Turner, on Dec. 17.

The staging, set design, and lighting work together to create pure theatre magic as the scenery changes from the inn to the ship to the island and so forth without the audience even realizing it. Open Stage has announced their next production, The Mad Ones, an original musical by Kait Kerrigan & Bree Lowdermilk, which will play February 12 to March 12 on Open Stage’s Capital BlueCross Main Stage.

The world grew up with Cindy Lou Who, the adorable savior of Christmas.  The girl whose innocence and kindness grew the Grinch's heart three times its original size. 

Open Stage, one of Harrisburg’s non-profit theatre companies, has hired three new team members. These additions to the team come just a few months after the downtown theatre company began to once again produce in-person shows for its 36th season.
