Philip Bulcock BIO

Philip was born in the UK in Jericho, Bury but grew up in Rossendale and Poole.

He won the Ivy Owen Award for Drama and attended The National Youth Theatre of Great Britain before studying at Mountview Theatre School. Subsequently he augmented his acting training and studied directing, at The Academy of the Science of Acting and Directing where he was trained by renowned teacher and founder of ‘The Science of Acting’, Sam Kogan.
 
Philip has appeared in stage productions of 'Nine', 'Elvis', 'Return to the Forbidden Planet', 'The Rink’, 'Grease', 'Golden Boy', 'Down the Road', 'Of Mice and Men', 'The Merchant of Venice', 'Romeo and Juliet', and ‘Jersey Boys’, with film credits including, ‘Crossroad’ (for which he won an award Best Performance at The Attic Film Festival,Austin, Texas), ‘A Liar’s Autobiography’, ‘Dark Shadows’ ‘The Fireboy’, 'Brothers', '28 Weeks Later', ‘Red Tails’, ‘The Real American – Joe McCarthy’ and 'The Dark Knight'. Philip starred in 40 episodes of a drama for Channel Five, 'Hanrahan Investigates' and has also appeared in the BBC’s ‘Casualty’, ‘Ocean of Fear’, ‘At Apollinaire’s Grave’, ‘One Night at the Aristo’, 'Curses and Sermons', ‘Blood in the Water’ and 'House of Saddam' for HBO.

As a director, producer and executive producer Philip’s credits include ‘One Night at the Aristo’ and the currently in pre-production, ‘Good Blonde’, as well as the shortly to be released 'Everybody Knows My Name' which represents Philip’s first foray into directing and producing, using the 35mm film format.

Philip has also directed and produced promotional videos for Midway, Acclaim, Atari and Sony and he held the position of resident director for the stage production, ‘Shakespeare and Rock n’ Roll’ in Berlin.
