Peter Vamvakas BIO

Peter Vamvakas was a respected actor, director, and acting coach and was quite involved in the Chicago area acting community performing on stage, in movies, and television shows. For many years he performed internationally with the Chamber Opera Chicago. Peter took great pride in leading acting classes for youth and coaching attorneys and medical professionals in their deliveries. He died in September 2023.

Peter Vamvakas, who directed the company's readings of Shakespeare's TWELFTH NIGHT and Joe Calarco's SHAKESPEARE'S R&J, will direct the classic as a gender bending romp through ancient Greece.

About Face Theatre Welcomes New Board President


About Face Theatre has announced the appointment of Rob Abernathy as President of its Board of Directors effective immediately. Abernathy, who has served as the Board's Vice President since 2011, replaces Bill Michel, who is stepping down after nine years as Board President. Theatre at the Center, 1040 Ridge Road, Munster, Indiana, one of Chicago's top musical theaters, will host five exciting and educational workshops for the young theater enthusiasts of Chicagoland. These workshops will provide students of all ages with the environment to explore the world around them through theatre, to have fun with creative expression while building self-esteem, and to expand communication and creative problem solving skills. These winter 2011 classes will begin January 24 and run through March 15.
